Throw Them All Out, Peter Schweizer's explosive new expose, has pulled back the lid on congressional insider trading, revealing the shocking regularity with which elected officials use their legislative positions to reap financial rewards.
This 'honest' graft is by no means limited to using inside knowledge to play the stock market. Schweizer, a fellow at the conservative Hoover Institute, reports that members of Congress are also making a killing in real estate, using federal funds to boost their personal land holdings.
Like Congress's questionable trading practices, mixing real estate investments with taxpayer money is technically legal. Actually, it's pretty easy for members of Congress to get rich off of federal projects — land deals are more difficult to detect than trades, and land, unlike stocks, doesn't have a set price. Members of Congress aren't required to disclose if a land deal would benefit them personally.
In the corporate world, using company money for personal financial gain would at minimum get you fired. But in Congress, the practice is not only legal, but common.

Some congresscritters are corrupt to the bone. They truly consider themselves the super elite and above the very laws they write.
Where do they get their investment money? From their campaign contributions, of coarse.
Why isn’t Diane Feinstein and her husband mentioned? They have made killings off deals with China. These guys should all be in prison.
These gates of corrupt legislature have been opened by the king. He wants his Arab Spring, or OWS to spread like a cancer, showing the disease on someone other than he.
And money they earmark for projects or bills they pass. It looks like a lot of our money is paying for this.

This has been going on for decades, maybe centuries. Check out Lake Sam Rayburn in east Texas. Not only did he profit from the lake he even had it named after him.
What really pisses me off is now that it’s been onl 60 Minutes all these politicians come out and say they’re going to change the law. Why the hell didn’t they change it years ago? It’s like they’re saying “I got mine now screw everybody else.”
I despise all politicians from both parties and will not vote for either. They’re all crooks. They can take my money but they can’t take my vote.

The Washington Establishment cuts across party lines. The purpose of the Republican Party is to maintain the PRETENSE that there is opposition to this stuff, while the Washington Elite run things for their own benefit.
This is WHY outsiders like Palin and Cain are not welcome.

The Founders did NOT create this government of selfish, self-centered elitists who write "laws for thee, but not for me"! They created a government that was intended to be small, and in which the laws applied equally to the voters and taxpayers as well as the lawmakers!!
We are seeing the corruption of this government spread across the front page in big bold letters and all we do is shrug our shoulders and say "what can we do?" 150 years ago, we would have grabbed our pichforks, tar, feathers and some railroad ties and treated these criminals in the manner that they deserve!! Today, we read about it, get angry and do NOTHING!!!!!! We are waaaaayyyyyy overdue for hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del and resetting this government back to what the Founders intended!! As a result, we have allowed them to impoverish our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with TRILLIONS of dollars of debt - MOST of it currently owed to the Chinese!!! These facts should send chills down all of our backs, but it doesn't. The economic meltdown we are currently witnesing in Greece and across Europe is the future (very NEAR future) that WE are facing if WE, the people who OWN this government lock, stock and barrel, do NOTHING!!!!
The corruption of the congressmen and senators under discussion, along with the entire Obama administration overpower Nixon's wrong-doings to such a large extent that he looks like an errant Sunday school boy in comparison.
When Nixon was run out of office the country was aghast at his ethical transgressions.
Today, his sins wouldn't even get him mentioned on the register of the top 10,000 most corrupt politicians and government officials of the last 50 years.
Bill Clinton resurected Richard Nixon.
Barack Obama, congress and the senate raise him to a position as one of the more honest politicians of the modern era.
That's how corrupt and filthy this scumbag government has become.

Each and everyone one of them either guilty or, at least, complicit.
Only Trials and Hangings on the Capitol Steps will solve this problem.
And, I mean that literally, not metaphorically.

And he was telling the truth. He was not accused of doing anything to enrich himself as are the current group of politicians and bueaucrats.
Nixon's transgressions had to do with an attempted cover up of the illegal break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C. in a misguided effort to illegally obtain information on democrats.
Nixon foolishly allowed himself to get involved in a cover up being perpetrated by his staff. He was never implicated in the actual break in.
And once again, more to the point of this post and conversation, he was never accused of trying to personally profit from any criminal activity or unethical conduct.
I have never been an ardent fan of Richard Nixon, but he is practically a saint when held up against the current crop of politicians.
As serious as his trangressions are, in the current corrupt environment they would be relatively mild when compared to what goes on everyday with our current leadership.
