Ron Paul Ignores Iran's Treachery (GOP presidential candidate demonstrates appalling ignorance)
American Thinker ^ | 11/11/2011 | Reza Kahlili

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul is demonstrating an appalling ignorance on the Iranian nuclear issue and the threat it poses to world security. In fact, several times during the recent GOP debates he blamed the animosity against the U.S. in the Middle East on America's foreign policy.

Paul recently argued on "Fox News Sunday" that sanctions should be removed altogether to get Iran to act differently and that the U.S. response to Iran's nuclear pursuit was an "overreaction." He added that Iran does not pose a threat to either the U.S. or the region. The congressman from Texas insists that a better art of persuasion would be to offer friendship, the way the U.S. approached the Soviets and Chinese in the 1970s and 1980s.

So Paul not only has shown that he has no understanding of the murderous radicals who rule Iran but has a dangerous lapse of memory. President Obama at first tried to do exactly what Paul argues now should be done -- and failed miserably.

When Obama took office in 2009, he immediately changed the U.S. approach toward Iran, believing that the mullahs would only change behavior if a kinder, gentler approach were implemented. His appeasement of the mullahs started when he sent his video message on the occasion of the Iranian New Year in 2009, stating his desire for friendship with the Iranian leaders. That was followed by a letter to the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in which he reiterated that America did not intend to interfere in Iran's internal matters and that it respected the sovereignty of the Islamic state and that he desired better relations between the two countries.

He does more than ignore. As an official representative of the US Government, he has gone to Iran’s state media on several occasions knocking the US and her allies. It seems interventionism is fine if it is against us or our allies.

He doesn’t seem to understand that Iran doesn’t want a nuke to use as a threat. Iran wants a nuke to use.

I think Paul goes too far in ignoring the wild qualities of the Iranian regime. But backward Iran is no threat to the USA. If it really was a threat we would have never been so adamant in removing Saddam Hussein, the natural counterweight and obstacle to Iran.

Unlike Iran, Nazi Germany was a modern, populous nation with the potential for continental hegemony. Such a hegemony over wealthy, industialized Europe was a threat to the USA. And we need not worry about Israel for Israel has the means of massive retaliation in response to any foolishness by Iran.

While iran is certainly more developed than many Third World nations, they are way behind the US and directly relevant to the situation, they are way behind Israel.

Iran without a nuke is not a threat.
Iran with a nuke is a threat.

And, no, a nation headed by a group of religious extremists who believe their mission is to bring about the end of the world cannot be deterred by threats of retaliation.

Or, if you are an arrogant, delusional, neo-conservative, you remove Saddam and attempt to remodel Iraq as a Western liberal democracy in order to counterweight Iran.

The Ottoman Empire, and many others, have fallen to backward hordes. All it takes is for the horde to have reasonably equivalent force to make it possible. Then a few feckless politicians and generals on our side make it probable.

Ron Paul 1488
The Final Solution for America

The two eights of the number 1488 stand for the eigth letter of the alphabet: H. And the two of them together form H H or Heil Hitler.

The fourteen part of the number 1488 stands for those fourteen words that every white supremacist knows: "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for White children. (hat tip Bill Levinson)

I don't know why so many have trouble grasping just how insane these twelvers really are. They believe they can bring the Mahdi by washing the world in blood. Even the Ayatolla Khomeini worked to keep them out of power because he believed they were too extreme.

They want to strap a bomb belt around the whole planet.

There’s a quote circulating around the internet that says it all about Ron Paul’s foreign policy “expertise”:

You’re all familiar with the broken clock that is right twice a day. Ron Paul is like a strange broken clock that is right 23 hours a day. Then you get to some foreign policy midnight, and instead of chiming, it barks and smears itself with poo.”

Best estimates are that they already have enough material for 4 nuclear devices right now.

I would be very surprised if they are not already assembled into warheads.

The only thing holding them off is that they will probably want to have enough to actually make a huge impact, and pre-position their attacking entities for the deployments in the West.

When all their ducks are in a row...then they pull the trigger.

Iran may be closer than we think...

This came across the wires this morning. Low levels of Iodine 131 were found in the Czech Republic and other areas of Europe. Iodine 131 is a product of plutonium fission and the report says it the iodine 131 is not from Fukushima.

The sad thing is, I’ve met a fair number of Iranian immigrants (most US citizens). IME, they tend to be only nominally Muslim, very Westernized, and fond of America. They’re probably the most “normal” of anyone from the Muslim Middle East (I emphasise Muslim as Christian Lebanese and of course Israelis wouldn’t fall in the same category) and culturally seem to fit in the US rather well.

Their government is crazy, and there are just enough wackos in the country to keep the Islamists in power, but in raw numbers, there are still a LOT of Iranian people who I’d much rather have over for dinner than, say, the average Saudi.

Ron Paul is a loon, but unless I’m missing something, he’s not an actual white supremacist is he?

Perhaps he just has the fear that attacking Iran might lead to WWIII. Which it could.

That said, I personally don't care for his foreign policy.
