Newt Gingrich and No Teleprompter (This is a keeper)
Youtube

Posted on 11/10/2011 3:35:17 PM PST by sneakers

I received this in my e-mail today. This is a speech Gingrich gave at David Horowitz' Restoration Weekend, Nov 2009. Worth viewing. (and it's short!) Regardless of who you support for president, this is worth a listen.

I confess to being schizoid where it comes to Newt.
On the one hand he can give such inspiring speeches which ring with motivating clarity and on the other he will endorse a Dede Scozzafava and side with Nancy Pelosi on AGW. Wish he would just pick a philosophy and stick with it.

I think a good sense of humor is essential in a well balanced person. I guess I am just not in the mood for it today. It has been a rough week.

No matter all the freedoms we have lost because of the global warming theory. It was hocus to get more control over us. the Left is getting pretty good at that, as the water grows warmer. There no longer is sreliable news. Everything including food and energy is nearly prohibitive for many of us. We ned instant help. Mr. Cain is right. Newt is just more of the same.

If you really want to know how corrupt Washington is, and has been for a very long time, read
“Family of Secrets”, by Russ Baker. An appalling eye opener!

With supporters like you, Herman doesn't need enemies! You take the 'prevaricating for Herman' ploy to dizzying heights. Newt and the economy? I dare you to watch the following videos:

BTW, are you a 'non-rotarian'?

Oh come- on. (jimmy valmer for those in the know...)

Listen, again, I know the perils of Newt when you keep the singular lens of specific policy tasks as your primary viewing device.

But again, I’ll repeat my post.

As for the conspiracy, well while I’m admittedly likely more disposed to them than your average conservative, that doesn’t mean I’ve yet to buy into even one of any kind.

Listen, even if there is some Jack Bauer villain cabal in the wings waiting for overthrow, so freaking what?!

Either they are constitutionalists and I’ll be dammed happy, or they are everything else and worse, and I’ll gladly fight to “Live Free or Die” and if by slight chance we should win (ya know, kind of like the slight chance good ‘ol G. Dubs had in ‘76) then I’ll have a new and improved republic, better than the first.

Neither of those scenarios sound bad at all. Anyone agree with me there?

I used to be scared of this country and its greatness coming to an end too.. scared might even be the wrong word, let’s say, upset that future generations won’t know it.

But then, I decided we have the knowledge and people to create a better/new one if need be, and with the goal of topping this, so future generations would continue in the progress of human civilization for the better.

Call me a narcissists, but plenty of people have done it in the past when all was lost- came back better and stronger, even if it took a relatively long while. If they can do it, I can do it (We can do it..). No one is better than me if I hold myself up to only the golden standards, fail as I must, succeed as I might.

;)

I really think his secret dream is to be a stand up comic. That is not presidential.

I don’t have time to read your little links. Nor do I castigate people for their viwews. I argue the views themselves. Life is too short at my age to fight the viewer! Everyone still has a right to think what they like the last time I looked. Even you. :o)

Nice non sequitur, there doll. I posted links to videos. If you can't even listen to the real words, what is your agenda?

Here's another link to video of Newt Gingrich displaying an astonishing command of facts and data, if you're not too chicken to watch it and listen to the man speaking just a day ago! ...

Just watched the video and I couldn’t agree more!

As an aside, I was very pleased to hear Newt say that sitting on that couch with “Princess Pelosi” was a mistake. He’s a human being and not perfect; I’m willing to put that matter in the past.

While Cain is my first choice, I would certainly vote for Newt if he were to win the GOP Primary.

I actually have this video and the entire series for this lecture saved in my You Tube favorites. Newt must just go for hours and hours to rehearse this stuff or he has a mind like a steel trap and just retains it and uses it on command. He has given the same speech in different venues as well.

I think this is part and parcel of being an historian. Their knowledge base has to be immense.

While I can’t get into the man’s heart to see what’s there, I do get the sense in watching him, that what he says is sincere. Six to eight weeks ago, I would’ve scoffed at the idea of voting for Gingrich...but not anymore.

I read an article about Gingrich not so long ago....I believe it was in the leftist rag ESQUIRE......very long article but worth the read. Out county republican chairperson said the most down to earth political person she has ever spoke to ws Gingrich. She was cleaning up after a lincoln day dinner and it was her and her husband and son in the building and then newt walked out of a back room. He said he was beat and asked her and her family to sit down and chat......they talked for hours and not about politics. Interesting to hear that about a person who has has the aspiration to run for the highest office in the land for quite some time. Maybe it is his time or his destiny. In a battle of wits, I believe newt would take down all takers on the Republican side of the battle and would eviscerate O in any debate format.

Today is a new day. I am refreshed. Thank you for sending me one part of the debate. Unfortunately I do not get CNBC on my TV and could not find it online so I very sadly emptied the dishwasher and read on my kindle during the debate and. It would have been so nice to see how the other candidates responded to the inquisition as well as Newt. Did they also take a very long time to answer their questions? Newt loves the sound of his own voice, so he does like to ramble on. There, now he’s got me doing it!
:o)

Well, Doll, IIRC Newt’s campaign put that lengthy video out in order to feature ‘just Newt’. It would be a good idea to have other candidates do that, well, except Herman’s since it would have too much repetition of ‘9-9-9’ unless surgically edited to a one minute byte.
