Newt Gingrich and No Teleprompter (This is a keeper)
Youtube

Posted on 11/10/2011 3:35:17 PM PST by sneakers

I received this in my e-mail today. This is a speech Gingrich gave at David Horowitz' Restoration Weekend, Nov 2009. Worth viewing. (and it's short!) Regardless of who you support for president, this is worth a listen.

Thank you for posting that... it was great.

I am convinced that if elected president, that man, with our help, could save our country.

Newt 2012, period.

I really think his secret dream is to be a stand up comic. That is not presidential. Newt has his good points but he would fit far better as Chief of Staff. We don’t need any career politicians in the White House. We need a good fumigation there, then the fresh air ideas of Herman Cain.

It was two years ago, so it’s not a presidential speech, but the message itself is important, no matter who made the speech. Presidential politics aside - he’s right. And I agree with you about Cain, though I still think Gingrich would be excellent on the ticket with him.

I think we may be witnessing the mass exodus of the Perry campaign supporters to Newt Gingrich. Is he smart? Yes. Is he wise? No!

Look, we all know the MAJOR issues with some of Newt’s ‘on records stances’ (especially MM-GW).

However,as is becoming more and more clear this election cycle, he is pretty unmatched at this point in American political history in his accurate understanding, and eloquent communication of, core constitutional values and philosophy. Which, I would argue (and will if you want to get into it) is all that really matters in terms of what kind of impact they would have if elected, anyway (as opposed to specific single-issue stances).

He’s not Reagan, but he certainly can be classified as a great communicator in the literal sense, in my book.

I had no vote to give last week, but recently I believe at this point Newt’s got my vote. Besides, I can rely on science to prove him wrong on the MMGW stuff.

Nice, play the ‘my candidate by default’ game and wonder why the Republic finally succumb to the fascist democrats. Oh but you will be guilt free because you knew Gingrich just wanted to be a stand up comic. That’s why he quotes Historical documents, recites portions from debates between the founders, and claims We The People are the ultimate sovereigns. Comedy to you, that. Riiiiight.

Thank you. I didn’t intend to put this up to push Newt Gingrich, but thought the MESSAGE was important. Thank you for taking the time to view it. I just got it in my e-mail from a friend just a few hours ago, and thought it was worth sharing. We are in dire straights in this country, and this is a guideline on what we must do as a country - regardless who is president. I didnt’ intend it to turn into a “Newt Gingrich for President” thread, though I do admire the man greatly for his knowledge. Dummy me! lol! Now that I think of it, I guess that it wouldn’t be taken any other way.

Debate is good.

“I really think his secret dream is to be a stand up comic. That is not presidential.”

He does have command of a wry humor, and I fail to see why his speech here was “not presidential”. Gingrich has mangled some things in the past—they ALL have—but I’d be happy to have him as President nonetheless.

A lot of people years ago were concerned about the possibility of global warming. We were not aware then that much of the data had been cooked. Not being scientists, some people had no idea of how bad the corruption was. I don’t blame someone for changing his mind about something as long as he’s changing it to the correct view, and it’s clear that Newt has done that. He’s a historian, not a scientist.

He certainly is a communicator if you want high blood pressure. If Newt wins, look for higher taxes and more rigid EPA regulations. There goes the country......and once gone, gone forever.

People have no idea what is going on while we are distracted by all this. There are very powerful forces waiting for just the right moment to over throw the government, so maybe all this is just so much mental exercise after all. Read “Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters”. Everyone over the age of l6 should read this book.
