Joe had said, `You cant do both, you cant have two masters, Paternos son, Scott, recalled earlier this week.
Sandusky cited his desire to devote more time to The Second Mile when he took early retirement following the 1999 season. But even though he was not particularly close with Paterno, he remained a familiar sight around the Penn State football complex. He was given an office in the East Area Locker building, across the street from the football building, as part of his retirement package, and would bring Second Mile kids around the football facilities.
There were times where I was around his Second Mile kids, and to me what it seemed was a great program, Scott said.

Paterno knew way back then. And did nothing.
With things like this, there are always two stories:
1. The one you tell everybody
2. What really happened
Sick, disgusting, Unfathomable. Adult men - football coaches no less - unleash a child predator on a children’s charity. The entire chain of command are each 100% responsible for all his attacks after they had ANY indication who he really was - much less actual eyewitness reports (or the eyewitnesses themselves). This isn’t NCAA infractions, it’s not even theft or other crimes - it’s one of the few “unforgiveable” crimes against innocent kids and humanity itself.
How does ANY adult look the other way from this? That’s the question on the minds of all Paterno fans. How could Paterno ever see Sandusky’s disgusting face again without physically attacking him? What kind of “man” is McQueery (sp?)? The AD and up need to be prosecuted, but what about JoePa and McQ ? It isn’t a crime to have direct nature of a felony child assualt and not report this to the police? “I told the A.D. !?!!?!?!?????” You’ve got to be kidding. JoePa knew it went nowhere - PSU later told The Second Mile people that the matter was investigated and found to be nothing. Good God!!!!
I HOPE upon hope that I do not know one single adult that would ignore/coverup any similar incedent thay had knowledge of, no matter what the consequences are. Is THIS what our society has become? It’s very terrifying for those of us with kids. The Catholic Church!?!?!? PSU Football!?!?!? “Bishop JoePa”!?!?!?
I hope Bishop JoePa is tourtured by this for the rest of his days - his own personal hell. I hope the media NEVER puts this on the back burner and talks about his football achievements. Every discussion about the “man” needs to start and end with how he let a monster loose on unsuspecting children - and with his implied “blessing” as a retired PSU coach from the Paterno family.
Enjoy the rest of your miserable life, Bishop JoePa.
