Wow. Just when you thought Perry's NH speech was the worst this past week could offer, Paul one-ups him.

I don't understand how Paul and Perry can generate so many facepalm moments this early in the primary season and still have serious supporters among FReepers.

Paul is succeeding in making Jimmy McMillan look like an acceptable candidate by comparison.

The answer is strategy. There are a number of Trolls on FR who seek to persuade and dissuade voters. They wish to draw votes away from Conservative candidates.

Because some freepers are tired of spending tons and tons of money on the military.

We spend way too much money on everything. Back in the old days, we had to spend to keep up with the USSR. They were funding wars all over the place, countries were becoming Communist, it was a really really big deal. The USSR was a real serious threat.

There is no country in the middle east that poses anywhere near the threat that the USSR did. All the countries of the middle east can’t kill us all in an instant the way the USSR could back in the day.

Yes, there is a risk. Live with it. It costs way way too much money to try to make the miniscule risk of harm from the middle east even smaller.

The cost / benefit analysis works in favor of big cuts.

Where was the “peace dividend” we were supposed to get with the collapse of the Soviet Union. We need it now.

The problem is not arabs in the middle east, it’s that we are spending too much money we don’t have.

You know that we’re actually borrowing money for all of this overseas do gooding.

Let’s just cut spending everywhere.
