Chelsea Clinton Mulls Congressional Run from New York State
Talk of the Sound ^ | Oct 26, 2011 | Robert Cox

Posted on 10/26/2011 2:18:26 PM PDT by bkopto

Talk of the Sound has learned that Chelsea Clinton may run for Congress next year.

Clinton has been approached by "the right people" in the New York Democratic Party, according to one source in Albany. While no decision has been made, Clinton is said to be "actively considering" a Congressional run from New York State in 2012.

Chelsea Clinton, 31, is the only child of former U.S. President Bill Clinton and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The discussions of running Chelsea Clinton for a house seat grew out of the redistricting plans currently underway in the New York State legislature in Albany.

The plan is to identify an open seat for Clinton in or around New York City where she currently resides with her husband, Marc Mezvinsky. While no specific district has been determined, New York City and Westchester are said to be the focus with New York's 18th District considered a strong possibility. The 18th encompasses much of Westchester County, just south of where her parents have maintained a home for the past 12 years.

Bill and Hillary Clinton have owned a home in New York's 19th Congressional District since 1999. The 19th is a swing district that went for Republican Nan Hayworth in 2010. The 18th District on the other hand is solidly Democratic. Barack Obama won the district in 2008 by 62% to 38%, John Kerry won in 2004 by 58% to 42%. Al Gore won the district 58% to 39%.

One senior Democrat, a former elected official in New York, told Talk of the Sound that Democrats involved in the discussions are excited, seeing Chelsea Clinton as an "automatic win" for the Democrats in 2012.

She’d better do it soon, before she gets too ugly.

Who says we don’t have a permanent ruling class?

She should do it, because she has the resources to win. She has no personality though, just like Linda McMahon, so she might not get elected.

Well it takes no skill at all to be a US Congressman. In fact, a semi-trained monkey could do the job better than most there now. I see no reason why Chelsea wouldn’t fit right in.

We knew this was coming, we just didn’t know when.

Her world was laid out for her long ago.

First a high paying job she did nothing to deserve, then a political run , with Mom and Dad shoving her. New York is the perfect state, they love celebrity candidates and they love the Clinton’s, and they are stupid enough to live in New York an urban sh*thole, filled with Democrats.

I would bet she will get elected.

Shouldn’t she start off small though? Like Mayor of Ugly Stick, NY.

“One senior Democrat, a former elected official in New York, told Talk of the Sound that Democrats involved in the discussions are excited, seeing Chelsea Clinton as an “automatic win” for the Democrats in 2012.”

Does that answer your question? They’re not interested in qualifications, or rational, logical reasons to qualify someone. No, these retarded D’s in NY want a... gosh.. a CLINTON. Why, her DNA magically makes her perfect for the job. She’s an automatic win!

Idiots. There’s some things I just don’t miss about NYS...

How’s that husband of hers doing? Mark Mesvinsky? Last I heard he had a mental breakdown of sorts, quit his Wall Street job, and was moving to Sun Valley. The Clintons have that effect on people don’t they? Anyhow he should make a great co-partner when she kicks off her campaign. Their wedding pictures looked like Howdy Doody and Beetlejuice got married.

That's Nita Lowey’s seat. Is she leaving willingly or will the Clinton's strong arm a 74 year old woman?

She couldn’t make it as a medical student; she couldn’t make it as a hedge fund manager; she could barely make it as a wife, so it would seem, therefore the logical answer: run for office and become a multimillionaire on the taxpayers’ dime and never do a lick of work.

Bill and Hillary Clinton have owned a home in New York's 19th Congressional District since 1999.

Does Hillary actually live there? has Chelsea ever lived there? I thought she wanted to have a baby. Actually, if she waits too long to have a baby, that would mean the end of the Billary line. Not a bad idea.
