WASHINGTON Texas Gov. Rick Perry, struggling to claw back to prominence in the Republican presidential race, is renewing the so-called birther issue, suggesting in a new interview he harbours doubts that President Barack Obama was born in the United States.
"I don't have any idea," Perry told Parade magazine when asked if he believes the long-form birth certificate Obama released in April, largely to silence real estate mogul Donald Trump's assertions that the president wasn't born in the U.S., was authentic.
"I had dinner with Donald Trump the other night," Perry said. "He doesn't think it's real."
When the Parade interviewer reminds Perry that he's seen Obama's birth certificate, Perry replied: "I don't know. Have I?"

Well, that makes two of us.
I don’t know if Obama’s a real citizen.... I do know he’s a real azzhole.
I’m confused... didn’t he just say in another interview it didn’t matter?
First he imitates Gov. Palin and tries to be a “tea partier,” then he imitates Mr. Cain with a flat tax, and now he’s imitating Mr. Trump with the birth certificate issue? What next, will he say “all we have to fear is fear itself,” call for an audit of the Federal Reserve, say “Every Man A King,” talk about a cross of gold or promise to get us out of Vietnam?
Perry is lost and grasping for anything to keep his head above water. Trump? Really? Just pathetic.
I am sorry, but this is just priceless. Hope you have your sense of humor on.
...or anything else about him
Oh, wait...
Dancing with the Stars.
Oh please. It’s not because he believes the BC is fake, it’s because he is just sucking for votes.
GO Cain!!!!
Neither does any thinking American.
I will always be a birther. F obama and his sasquatch wife.
What the media and most legislators have obscured is the truth to which every US Senator signed his agreement in 2008, that a natural born citizen is born on US soil, of two citizen parents. That is both common law and positive law because Minor v. Happersett affirmed the common-law definition which is how precedent is established. When the Constitution was written virtually no term was defined within the document, for very good reason. As Mark Levin explained, using Madison's explanation, if the meanings of terms as understood by the framers are not insisted upon, the Constitution cannot have eternal meaning. The meanings of words change, but not human understanding.
Obama, Rubio, Jindal, Chester Arthur, Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes, all were born to one or more non-citizen parent and are constitutionally ineligible. Perry won't make a stink because the party went along since McCain was our candidate. Every Democrat and every republican knew McCain had a problem, signing Senate Res 511 in April 2008, which could have no legal force, to say they thought he was deserving. Dems also tried to pass SB2678 in Feb 2008, “To Make Foreign Born Children of Military Citizens Eligible to the Presidency”. McCain provided cover for Obama's ineligibility. Only re-interpretation of Minor v. Happersett, or a Constitutional Amendment makes Obama, Rubio, Jindal, McCain, Calero,... eligible. Orrin Hatch tried and amendment in 2004 for Schwarzenegger. Conyers tried, probably anticipating Obama, in 2002 and 2004.
Perry is correct, but for the wrong reasons. Obama probably, like Chester Arthur, have proof of his birth on US Soil. He wants to distract from the legal definition in Minor v. Happersett. The plot is more obvious than ever now that Leo Donofrio (naturalborncitizen.wordpress.com) and friends have documented the editing of supreme court decisions by Obama supporters at justia.com, removing citations to Minor v. Happersett from a number of cases to keep the curious from picking up the trail.
Be a hero Marco Rubio and blow the lid off of this coverup, a cover-up by both sides. Too many conservatives know the truth so your addition to any ticket is a guarantee of Obama's re-election. (I'd like to believe that Sarah Palin, who exposed a Republican thief in Alaska, would have exposed this constitutional travesty). Remember, Obama himself told everyone that he was “born a subject of the British Commonwealth.” Even those not knowing the precise meaning of “natural born citizen” cannot have believe he could be both a natural born citizen of the US, and a natural born subject of Great Britain. Ironically, Obama’s status as a naturalized citizen of the US makes him eligible to any office but president, which naturalized subjects are not eligible to be members of the British Parliament.
IMO, no. No one has.
