Former GOP Assemblyman and U.S. Senate hopeful Chuck DeVore has given up his Orange County supervisor bid to move his family to Texas.

DeVore has accepted a new job as a visiting scholar at the nonprofit Texas Public Policy Foundation, where he will write a book on "the Texas Model of how low taxes and low government spending, a light and predictable regulatory environment, respect for property rights, and a business-friendly legal climate has turned Texas into America's jobs generating dynamo."

The claim has been made that Perry “did nothing” to protect Texas’ tax rates. I have little doubt that Houston’s big lib Democrats Chris Bell and Bill White would have pushed to add a state income tax no matter what the public outrage might have been. Saw too many of their policy items go through locally despite opposition. Even now ex-mayor Bill White spits on those who objected to the red light tax camera system.

You're delusional. Rick Perry didn't create the Texas miracle. Texans did.

Perry passed the tort reform, and MAINTAINED, and PROMOTED the business friendly environment. Tort reform was a major aspect of business friendly climate.

Perry passed the tort reform

Like I said, you've become delusional. The Texas legislature passed tort reform, not Perry, and it's not an unlimited tort reform, either.

Texans created and maintained the good business climate in this state, and they did it long before Ricardo 'La Raza' Perry ever showed up.
