MANCHESTER, NH Rick Perrys Granite State headquarters has the feel of a typical campaign office: Red, white, and blue Perry President placards line the walls, young staffers tap away incessantly on keyboards and Blackberries, and dry erase boards are crowded with maps of the state, important dates, and key endorsements. The Texas Governor may have just sustained a series of extraordinary blows in national polling, but you wouldnt know it from the demeanor of his staffers. The fight goes on, even in rival Mitt Romneys regional backyard.
Unsurprisingly, several staffers I spoke with are upbeat about Perrys latest debate performance at Dartmouth College. The word solid comes up more than once. Its what we needed, one aide says, expressing relief that Perry wasnt a pinanta this time, unlike in previous debates. Theyre also quick to point out that debates are only one small element of a candidates overall appeal. Their man, they say, is much more dynamic in person and on the stump, which is why the campaign plans to get Perry in front of as many voters as possible before the first votes are cast in Iowa and New Hampshire. Weve adopted a marathon strategy, one staffer explains. They certainly have the resources to take the long view; Perry raked in over $17 million in under 50 days last quarter.

Funny how he’s yet to make it out of Manchester or Concord.
Strategy is to avoid debates and interviews and stick to teleprompter?
Sounds familiar..
The energy President!
Every time I see that picture...I start laughing...zap & tax too funny. I told you about the great sense of humor you have.
I’m feeling better about Perry’s nomination now. Between all the verifiable BAAAAAD info on Romnuts coming out, and Cain going ballistic on issues. Perry is the only sane choice at this point. for VP I’m thinking eithe Newt. He and Perry are good friends. Or Bachmann, I think she is equally as intelligent as Newt.
But I want to say somethin about Sarah Palin. None ofus would even be half the way towards making an informed and issue driven dicision if it hadn’t been for the HELL sarah has gone through...FOR America. I truely believe she was a woman for our time. She has more than proven her faith in God and America. I only wish she and her Family the best and may they get a little peace for the next few months.
Doesn't use one.
Perry is tougher than he seems to some others.
I guess he’s not JUST a pretty face.....like Myth!
” Perry is the only sane choice at this point.....” <<<<
I think the bundlers are going to be coming to that conclusion this quarter. Romney can not close the deal and is stuck for one reason, WE ARE NOT CAVING. Romney is going no where. When that is made clear, and when Rick keeps selling JOBS, they will be forced to take another look and want to give Perry’s still new campaign time to get it’s combat legs. That has started with his Energy Plan that rocks and is so far above the reach of others who have only moved their lips on the subject that it will be of great interest to developing states.
What enemy? Whose enemy? “ <<<
Rick is in Mitt’s country.
Michelle Bachmann: 1%
Herman Cain: 24%
Jon Huntsman: 0%
Ron Paul: 5%
Rick Perry: 39%
Mitt Romney: 21%
Rick Santorum: 3%
Newt Gingrich: 4%
not sure: 2%
Read it...it’s Mitt Romney.
Boy, Rick Perry and his team put together a dynamite plan. It is so professional and stands so far above anything else. It makes Romney’s plan look like jr high compared to Perry’s graduate plan. The other guy’s plan looks a bit like grade school
fwiw, i totally and completely agree with both of you,
in your comments about Sarah.
both of you seem like great conservatives and great patriots.
...i’m just sorry i can’t support Perry over Cain,
mainly because Cain seems much stronger against Islam,
and illegal immigrants.
If Perry would criticise Islam, and condemn the world-wide violence against Christians by Islam, i’d be happy to vote for him. ...but he won’t. and Islam is the greatest danger we face. and we can’t afford to support illegals anymore - it is destroying our country. Perry had 11 years to do what Alabama did. blaming the Feds, is not the leadership we need.
(and agreeing with his wife, he is “brutalized” because of his religion, when Christians are being KILLED because of their faith? honestly, are even his supporters embarrassed he said that ?)
but, if Perry is the nominee, i’ll support him, including financially. and i’ve never once, said anything negative personally to his supporters here.
...if Sarah had run, i don’t think we’d have any of the problems. and i’d have a lot more hope, for my child’s future.
How much did Romney spend in '08 before folding his tent...50 million? I don't think this year's nomination will be bought.
Did he spend that much? OMG...
