I’ve heard somebody say that just as we shouldn’t have taxation without representation, we shouldn’t have representation without taxation.

And yes, that would REALLY change American politics. It would be a fatal blow to Cloward-Piven.

My favorite lecture to freshmen econ students was how I could end poverty overnight. I'd make that claim and they would ask “How?”. At the time, a family of 4 with income of $9600 or less (it's been a while) were considered poor. So, I told my students all you have to do is gather up everyone who makes $9600 or less and shoot them. After the student recovered, I asked them how many days would it take before the guy making $9601 started bitching that he was the poorest person in the country. We then went on to discuss the fact that, as long as two people can have different incomes, someone is going to be PO’ed. The War on Poverty was doomed from the start and a gov’t publication brought out this past summer shows that, despite trillions of dollars spent to address the problem, poverty is worse now that it was when Johnson started the WoP program. Despite all of these failures, the poor still align with the Democrats. How damn dumb can you be?
