palin, 1st choice;
cain, 2nd choice;
pery, 3rd choice;
The good news is maybe we can ALL reside in reality now, and face the actual field without waiting for the Great Pumpkin.
THIS IS THE GOP FIELD. TIME TO GET SERIOUS.
I’ve felt all along that this would be the decision she would make. I’m glad to hear her say that she and her husband have been praying and weighing, and that her family comes first. She has a young family. She knows her priorities: God first, then husband, then family, then others. For the believer in Christ, the battles begin in prayer and continue in prayer and are accompanied by obedience to His Words.
God will continue to use her; she has encouraged many (including some of those media folk)to speak out and stand up for what is truthful and right.
I’m not a hater, 2DV. I have given a good amount of money (for me) to SarahPAC...but I just figured she didn’t NEED the hassle of running for President now.
She has a great gig going—and she could very well be a power broker and spokesperson for the conservative cause for YEARS to come.
I am not with the FREEPers who say, “X or no one—I will never vote for that RINO ‘Y’!” My goal is to defeat Hussein in 2012, and I am CERTAIN that will be Sarah’s goal, too.
We’ve got to work to accomplish that worthy goal.
Maybe we ought to give an extra $10 (or whatever you can afford) to SarahPAC and perhaps one of the remaining Republican candidates....just to show solidarity. :)
RD
Cain it is, then.
She will be on the record with Greta tonight and for the first time I WILL NOT be watching....betrayed is not the word that is strong enough for me, I was ready to help, I was ready to give, and I will NOT be running over to Walmart now for the DVD, which I went to get at 5am this morning....glad I didn’t get it.
She let these bastards win.
Well my next move ... hmmmm ... I only know one for sure ... I will never, ever, ever, ever support or vote for Romney. Never gonna happen. I’ll vote 3rd or write in a name.
For now? Cain probably. I don’t know if I can ever be convinced on Perry either but ZERO chance of being convinced on Romney the Democrat.
So she wasn’t really playing a master strategy game of 10 dimensional chess, after all?
Oh well, she wasn;t electable any ways.
She didn’t have to win....as a candidate she could have fought for us and kept our hopes and dreams in front of the country, now she is just going to be seen as a quitter.
She could have spoken at all the debates, she could have carried our causes to the media, now she is nothing, she has deserted her opportunity and that is the biggest disappointment of all.....
Sarah Palin will go down in history as a remarkable woman.
I hope she has made the judgement that she is most
effective when she is not front and center. As a presidential candidate, she becomes a target of the
relentless media and hateful left. As a powerful Republican
on the sidelines, she can actually move conservative goals
forward and advocate for conservatism and conservative
candidates—something that would be nearly impossible
if she was tied down as a candidate. I judge this as
positive for conservatism and hope she becomes an engine
of support for the conservative elements of the party
platform and pushes the presidential candidate toward
more conservative stands.

One thing I take from this:
It is amazing the seismic event that this is. For a person to announce that they’re NOT running to have the impact this will have speaks volumes to the influence of this woman.
I’m a big Palin fan. I really didn’t think she’ run; at least I didn’t for the last few weeks.
But her influence on the whole process...well, I think I’m incapable of even imagining it.
Kudos to her, the changes she’s driven and the influence she exerts.
God bless her and her family.
I will always be a fan.
Anti-Crony Capitalism Czar? :)
Any mockery on my part was never aimed at Sarah, nor was it hatred. Just irritation at some of the die hard Palin supporters (not you) who refused to even consider that she might not run, and disparaged other choices as RINOs. I always said I am a fan of Sarah, but I doubted she would want to put her family through it in the end.
The FOX will be full of Cackling Hens tonight.
Yes, I’m disappointed, but I will undoubtedly vote for whomever is the GOP nominee, with varying degrees of enthusiasm - even Romney (who was my first pick in 2008, but remember then that the choice was Romney, McLame or the ludicrous Huckster).
My biggest fear now is that the left, the MSM, and Hollywood have now seen that they can with impunity destroy our most promising leaders. In 2012, 2016, 2020 and beyond look for the same outrageous sewer of lies and distortions to spew forth from them about whomever in the conservative ranks appears most threatening to them -— and it will work. We will always be forced to support and vote for someone the leftards finds least threatening.
Financially, to the extent able I will support strong conservative GOP candidates for the House and Senate, but will return to my prior posture with respect to party organs: not one cent to the house or senate campaign committees or the party. I might have trusted the GOP with Palin at the top of the ticket, but not one iota with any of the other dwarfs.
She made the right decision... again!
Well, that’s it. off to Herman Cain’s site . .
Just as classy as you have been to her (non) opponents.
That which goes around comes around pal.
Not from me. I wasn't one of her supporters, but a lot of FReepers I really enjoy posting to were and I respect their opinions even when I disagree. I learned a long time ago never kick someone when they are down.
