“Still a Possibility:” Sarah Palin May Enter The Race
ABC News ^ | October 4, 2011 | Shushannah Walshe and John Berman

Posted on 10/04/2011 8:11:40 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

According to a source with knowledge of the inner workings of SarahPAC, inside the Palin world it’s still a possibility that she might run. However, as the deadline approaches not even her staff knows what she will decide.

ABC News has separately learned that the Palin team is well aware of the filing deadlines and are keeping abreast of the changes in the deadline. Politico reported Tuesday that a law firm that employs an attorney representing SarahPAC had been making calls to early states inquiring about presidential filing deadlines. SarahPAC would not confirm the report to ABC News. When reached by ABC News, Mark Braden—the attorney mentioned in the Politico report—would also not comment or confirm the report or that he even works with Palin.

As the days creep toward those state filing deadlines, no new staff has been hired. Her core group of about seven staffers runs the organization while a volunteer group completely independent of SarahPAC called Organize4Palin or O4P tries to lay the groundwork in states, most notably Iowa. Those close to Palin acknowledge the decision is hers to make alone with her husband, Todd, and that she could decide the day before the first filing deadline that she wants to throw her hat in the ring....

... sigh ...

Polybius, you’re not a credible commentator on the subject of Sarah Palin.

Given your voluminous anti-Palin postings over the last year or so, it’s my guess that you’re a paid operative for someone’s campaign. No one invests the sort of effort to take down a (potential) candidate that you do, unless they’ve got a hidden agenda.

No sale - no comment.

That says to me, that she’s looked over the field long enough to conclude that her equal has not emerged, and that it’s her duty to rise to the occasion.

Exactly, plus she can take the beating and not be destroyed. Herman has a whole talk show host career to defend whether that is fair or not stuff will be dredged up. The media or the elite of both parties cannot lay a glove on Sarah they have already blown their wad.

[Palin is rhetorically grandiose but politically VACUOUS, offering a rant over any vision, or policy, and brings nothing to the table, so far, on any issue. Her depth is still at the level of, shoulda’, coulda’, wanta’. She is not running because of it. It’s hard work and she is spent. Her little staff of six, or now seven, couldn’t drive her to a post office, let alone to a nomination. She’s tired.]

You spent that much effort and never sited a single policy that you disagree with. Your writing is rhetorically grandiose but politically VACUOUS, offering a rant over any vision, or policy, and brings nothing to the table, so far, on any issue.

I'm curious. Does this logic you've applied above apply to Palin supporters as well? If I show you Palin supporters who've exhibited the exact behaviors that led to your conclusion above, are you going to extend the same logic to them and conclude that they are paid Palin operatives?

Intrade is accurate when you get close to the deadline. The thing is, this time around the legal deadline to enter the race is the end of this month...but the practical deadline is earlier than that. The experts claim anyone not officially in the race by the day after tomorrow will not be able to run an effective campaign. lets go with a middle ground and say oct 15th is the do or die date. That’s ten days to the deadline. Ten days is close enough to the deadline for Intrade to be accurate.

What does intrade say about sarah palin?

25% chance that she will enter the race...and the price for that bet is dropping like a boat anchor.

If you can’t interpret that on your own, I will do it for you...

SARAH PALIN IS NOT RUNNING

Poly has posted an anti-Palin graphic on Free Republic that I've only been able to source to TWO different very liberal, anti-Republican websites. I asked him WHY he posted it, and have never gotten an answer.

Poly's tagline says that "number one priority" is beating Obama, but Poly's ACTIONS demontrate that Poly's number one priority is to demoralize Palin supporters.

The only reason I hesitate to write-off Poly as a paid liberal operative is because his posting history shows a time or two way back when, when he's done a good job of articulating, within the parameters of conservate philosophy, the dangers of national health care. So he gets it -- it's the one thing that makes me think he's not a liberal. But then again, what kind of Republican or Liberal posts anti-Palin graphics from anti-Republican websites?

Polybius smells pretty foul to this FReeper nose.

Sarah, like Bachmann, is not a very good lion fighter either. However, Sarah, unlike Bachmann, is so afraid of the "hard questions Lions" that she absolutely refuses to face them. .... Polybius

'Lions like you? Lions who mischaracterize, misstate, and outright lie? Lions? Really? ... Sound more like hyenas, jakals darting to and fro trying to nip at the heals of one they fear because she will ..... MHGinTN

And there, right on cue and exactly as I predicted, is the adoring Choir chanting:

"Heretic! PDS! Sarah is feared! Sarah is Almighty! Heretic! PDS!"

As I said, in the Real World of Presidential elections, such cult-like chanting gets you absolutely NOWHERE.

Sarah Palin has her adoring Choir and Lady Gaga has her adoring "Little Monsters". The majority of America gets that. But, without seeing Sarah Palin step out of her safe cocoon, the majority of American voters do not take such a phenomenon any more seriously than they take an Elvis Presley Fan Club Convention or a Star Trek Convention.

The "hard questions Lions" are exactly what I have said they are: THE HOSTILE INTERVIEWERS THAT CHALLENGE A SERIOUS CANDIDATE WITH HARD QUESTIONS.

You expected Rick Perry to face those "hard questions Lions", didn't you?

You judged Rick Perry by how well he performed in the battle against those "hard questions Lions", didn't you?

To get their vote for the Presidency, the majority of American voters do not care in the least that you, MHGinTN, adore Sarah Palin as much as a "Little Monster" adores Lady Gaga.

To get their vote for the Presidency, the majority of American voters want to see if Sarah Palin CAN ANSWER THE HARD QUESTIONS POSED BY HOSTILE INTERVIWERS.

If those hostile interviewers "mischaracterize, misstate, and outright lie", then the candidates that actually dare to FACE THEM can engage them in direct combat and defeat them, on stage, for all of America to see.

That is called COMPETION. That is called BEING CHALLEGED. That is called FIGHTING THE BATTLE AND THEN WINNING. That is called THE REAL WORLD.

Yet, for the last three years, Sarah Palin has chosen the safety of "Preaching to the Choir". Never once, like Marco Rubio constantly does and how even Michel Bachmann did, did Sarah Palin dare to face off against the hostile "hard questions Lions" on, say, "Meet the Press".

Like him or not, Newt Gingrich does that.

Newt Gingrich goes into the den of the "hard questions Lions". ...... and he DEFEATS them.

Like her or not, Michele Bachmann does that.

Michele Bachmann goes into the den of the "hard questions Lions". ...... and she is RIPPED APART by them.

Win or lose, however, the fact remains that neither Newt Gingrich nor Michele Bachmann stay in the safe cocoon of cream puff pitches tossed to them by Puppy Dog Sean and Puppy Dog Greta.

The Sarah Palin Choir expects Sarah Palin to be adored by enough Americans to be elected President just because they adore Sarah Palin. Period. If unquestioning adoration is good enough for the Choir, why should unquestioning adoration not be good enough for the rest of America?

The adoring Choir expects America to adore Sarah Palin like they do without Sarah Palin competing in battle against the hard questions of hostile interviewers and then WINNING.

Sorry, adoring Choir. That is not the way the Real World works.

Success in the Real World is not won by just "Preaching to the Choir". Success in the Real World requires actually SHOWING UP FOR BATTLES against HOSTILE forces where you must FIGHT and then WIN or LOSE.

Three years of Sarah on cream puff Sean interviews and Sarah on cream puff Greta interviews and now Sarah teasing in Wasilla makes Sarah Palin only a "Ship in a Safe Harbor" that will never achieve the landfall of the Presidency of the United States.

Why?

Because, in three years, Sarah Palin has never dared to directly engage in direct combat with the hostile Sea. She just stayed, safely at anchor, in the safe harbor, and "Preaching to the Choir" in the safe little Church on the shore of that harbor, complaining about the hostile Sea and complaining about how lame-stream King Neptune is a hyena and a jakal.

"A ship in the harbor is safe... but that is not what ships are built for."

Nice try, fool, but I do not worship Sarah. Take a look at my last four hours of posts at FR. You are serving an agenda, but you’re not being honest. Red herring and lots of straw seem to be your stock and trade, dude/dudette. Sad really ... whomever you claim to be working to get elected is poorly served by your drek.

Yes, I have posted and warned that Palin was NOT going to mount a serious run for the Presidency. It was obvious to anybody that was not emotionally invested in her.

And, yes, I DID have an agenda, which was not hidden at all and which I repeatedly stated, again and again, which was NOT TO HAND OBAMA AN EASY REELECTION VICTORY as a result of the irrational adoration of a politician.

Palin supporters have trashed every Republican candidate whose name was NOT "Sarah Palin" and now liberal Mitt Romney leads the GOP polls.

But, all that aside, you know what, Windflier,.......

IN THE END, I WAS RIGHT AND YOU WERE WRONG!

=====================================

ABC NEWS, Oct 5, 2011 6:10pm: Sarah Palin Will Not Run for President

=====================================

DRUDGE HEADLINE:

NO!

The former Alaska Governor and VP candidate sent the following letter to her supporters on Wednesday:

October 5, 2011
Wasilla, Alaska

After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.

My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.

From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.

I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.

Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.

In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House. Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country!

God bless America.

– Sarah Palin

Nice try, fool, but I do not worship Sarah. Take a look at my last four hours of posts at FR. You are serving an agenda,

Yes, I DID have an agenda (now a moot point) and that agenda is clearly stated in Post 257 and has been repeatedly stated by me in the past:

TO PREVENT THE IRRATIONAL FAITH IN SARAH PALIN FROM HELPING OBAMA GET REELECTED

I have repeatedly warned of the obvious Red Flags of the Sarah Palin candidacy but, for the past year, ANY mention by ANYbody that Sarah Palin was not going to sweep into the White House was met with a barrage of personal attacks upon the poster instead of by rational discussion of those Red Flags.

Anybody that dared to discuss the obvious Red Flags of a Sarah Palin candidacy was labeled a "fool" and worse and accused of having "Palin Derangement Syndrome".

Even SUPPORTERS of Sarah Palin that strayed from the Party Line and dared to even suggest that there might be this or that little imperfection in Sarah were attacked.

ANY Republican candidate whose name was not "Sarah Palin" was automatically attacked.

I called that pattern of behavior "adoration" in my last post. You can call it whatever you please. It does not change the reality of that pattern of behavior.

Pointing out that Sarah Palin has avoided all hostile interviews since 2008 is pointing out a fact and pointing out that that pattern of avoidance can affect a decision to run is obvious to any rational observer but you could not get beyond the mindset that anybody that questions ANYthing about Sarah Palin must be a "fool". Therefore, I am a "fool" for pointing out an obvious Red Flag.

Well, it is finally over.

What I have been warning you about for the past half a year has come to pass.

October 5, 2011, Wasilla, Alaska ---- The former Alaska Governor and VP candidate sent the following letter to her supporters on Wednesday: "After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States."

If you are wise, consider this a Life Lesson.

Resorting to argumentum ad hominem is no substitute for rationally examining the evidence and rationally weighing it.
