During the month of September, NTUF analysts scored 384 bills to determine their impact on the federal budget. Of those, 274 were House bills with 126 introduced in the past month. In the Senate, 110 bills were able to be scored, including 55 bills sponsored in September.
The 274 House bills scored by NTUF in September would increase spending by $724.5 billion a year. Totals exclude offsetting provisions.

H.R. 1200, to establish universal health care programs in states at a cost of $3.98 trillion over five years. H.R. 870, to fund new jobs programs targeted at the needs of those already unemployed and disadvantaged youth, resulting in $503 billion in new spending. H.R. 2948, to allocate more tax dollars toward improving America's education infrastructure, which would authorize $15 billion over three years.
It seems like every inept politician in our country suggests we spend more money on education every time we turn around, and yet our schools suck.
When is enough , enough.
Getting tired of tossing money at the Education toilet.
Sounds like the TEA Party-influenced House is being valiant in their efforts to shrink government.
when does this stop?
I see super market lines longer and longer because coupons are becoming mandatory for quite a few. I see more cars in line at gas stations now because people are saving their varying "rewards" programs. Redeemable at the pump and filling up all in one go to use all those "rewards" on a fill up(previously, it was a "gas and go"; enough gas to get around a few days), it usually happens every couple weeks (payday!). I see a bag of dorritos is 4 bucks, but the bag is barely a 1/3 full. I see "generic" cigarettes are more expensive than the name brands which are playing coupon games (don't smoke, thank God). I see name brands on shelves while the knock off's are slightly more sold out.
I see "average" Americans on bent knee financially and were not even into winter yet let alone the "holidays".
This government is feral and corrupt. I'm wondering how much longer it is going to be before "they" simply start confiscating wealth rather than call it "taxing". Logically, this spending cannot go on; yet here we are with politicians who simply cannot accept the fact we are broke. Maybe not this exact minute, but certainly past the point of no return.
Sometimes ya have to ask yourself "do they know something we don't?". Because they sure are acting like its "something's" end.
IMHO, we’re screwed. it’s just a matter of who you want driving us off the cliff and at what speed.
in the end, terminal velocity is the same.
As soon as we stop circling the bowl and the toilet swallows. Then it’ll be a long dark smelly journey to who knows where.
Yeah, just think how much spending they would have proposed if we didn’t have these fiscal conservatives applying the brakes! Why, spending would be completely out of control if they weren’t there.
