McCain and Cheney differ on interrogation stance (McCain defends Obama, attacks Bush)

Sen. John McCain said Monday he disagreed with former vice president Dick Cheney's assertion that the killing of Anwar al-Awlaki could be equated with enhanced interrogation techniques.

"They're two entirely different things," McCain said Monday on CNN's "American Morning." "One is that this was specifically authorized by Congress after 9/11. And it's action that is taken against a declared enemy of the United States of America. I'm glad they did it. I'm glad that they will continue."

On Sunday, Cheney said on CNN's "State of the Union" that President Barack Obama owed the Bush administration an apology for criticizing enhanced interrogation techniques.

(snip)

McCain wouldn't say definitively Monday whether or not Obama owed Bush an apology, pointing out instead that the Senate had voted against using enhanced interrogation techniques.

"Well, it was 90-6 in the United States Senate to prohibit cruel and inhumane mistreatment. It was an amendment in a peaceful legislation that I was the sponsor of. The Senate has spoken. The American people have spoken. The people of the world have spoken. Torturing people in violation of international agreements such as the Geneva conventions is prohibited, and frankly very harmful to the image of the United States of America."

>> McCain [disagreed] that the killing of Anwar al-Awlaki could be equated with enhanced interrogation techniques.

What is one supposed to infer from this bizarre inequality?

I think what really gauls Mccain is that Bush was president and he wasn’t....and the republicans never put him in the white house. He has a ego that is huge....as a democrat he would have no attention, as a republican the press loves to hear him diss republicans....

McCain has a long recond of being a traitor. A man without dignity, honor, or worth. Pathetic. Doddering old fool.

I honor him for his service and what he went through, but...

His positions are akin to preventing our guys from shooting and killing the enemy because he knows that when our guys get shot and killed, it is an ugly, brutal thing to behold. He is one who would let the enemy grow, prosper and kill while putting our guys back in mufti and on the streets so they couldn't reciprocate.

McCain’s in his happy place: be a permanent guest on the Sunday morning talk shows, where he can sit next to Chuck U. Schumer and gleefully criticize Republicans. He accepts the state-controlled media’s huzzahs as affirmation.

” How does John McCain qualify as a Republican?”

How does ANY RINO qualify as a Republican?

The RINO Clause, Article 4 Section 12......
