ESPN pulls Hank Williams Jr. after he compares Obama to Hitler

Hank Williams Jr., the singer whose various videos for the hit song "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Monday Night" has served as the intro to "Monday Night Football" for 23 seasons, compared President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler during a Monday morning appearance on "Fox and Friends." The statement led to ESPN pulling his popular intro segment, best known to fans for its "Are you ready for some football?" ending, for Monday night's game between the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

During a discussion on the 2012 presidential race, Williams began discussing Obama's golf outing with Speaker of the House John Boehner. He said it was a political mistake, on par with "Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu."

The NFL and ESPN have benefited from their association with Hank Williams Jr a thousand times more than he has.

What, we're supposed to believe they just now "discovered" what he really thinks of liberals and their "house snicker?"

I'm sure Bocephus is cryin' in his beer that those phonies don't like him anymore.

Well, at least he didn’t call him a ‘nappy headed ho’ or something.

Dead on right there...

I guess the only thing that liberals and folks who are too stupid to really understand is that people like Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot were responsible for the killing fo millions of people...That reality is something you cannot ignore, it almost goes unsaid...

Someone posted here that Obama is responsible for the killing of 3 million babies (abortion)...Where I would argue that he did not, it is the culture of “if it feels good, do it” mentality that he does support, and will not change is hung over him almost like a laurel...

But all of those things you listed are right dead on the truth...And will never be aknowledged by anyone left, or even right of center...

Personal take: Gretchen Carlson is a bubble-head...

The bottom line is I believe, and Hank Jr. probably didn’t realize the impact of his thoughts about Obama, but Obama would love to see Isreal fail and or be destroyed, buy someone elses hand, like Hitler, if he were around today would do and say things to make that actually happen...

So I think the comparison is fair, and deeper than the originator ever thought about...

Just my opinion...

Did anyone see George Lopez on FOX & friends a little while ago, making a comment about Herman Cain? Reason I ask is that I only caught the tail end of a comment comparing Cain’s and Obama’s appearance. I’m trying to find out exactly what Lopez said, and how Carlson et al reacted to the comment. If Lopez got the same treatment Williams did.

You would only be exposing yet another example of bias and hypocracy across the entire TV, entertainment and news industry...

You will be ignored, chastized for even bringing it up, and if you press them enough, they’ll go dig some sort of BS up on you, whther it is true or not, will be up to you to prove them wrong, yet you won’t get the chance to clear your name unless they choose to let you do so...

Of course we’ll believe you...No problem...;-)

I think they pulled her off the front line because they probably thought she was gettign a little rough around the edges, a little long in the tooth...PLus she was well known to be from Texas, and somehow the corolation between her state of origin, and the administration at that time, they believed it might be something for the opposition to hype on, and exploint to distract the masses of independents who might be watching their program, and make the same comparisons...

It’s very shallow, btu think like a TV executive, without the pay of course...

;-)

Well, if I heard correctly, then Lopez called Cain black on the outside and lighter/white on the inside. I’d really like to know if that is indeed what Lopez said on FNC and, if so, how the hosts responded. If Lopez came in for the same treatment Williams got.

Like a poster on ESPN said maybe Obama could sing the MNF football intro because ESPN seems to love him so much. It might go something like this...

Are you ready for a Recession????
A Monday Night tax hike!
We got green jobs and stimulus!
Let’s get this downturn started!

Ready!
C’mon and get ready
I mean really ready
Are you ready for a recession!!!?
An American decline!
The malasie is rockin’, let’s get it kick started
Blame Bush, raise spending, that’s right
All my commie friends are here on Monday night!!!

FNF has been on the stupid bus for some years now. They are little different than watching seminar callers on C-Span in the morning. If they were any more stupid it wold be morning joe, which the politicians watch in order to see how tight minka’s sweater is each day.

williams did not screw up. He made an accurate contrast analogy.

the NFL and ESPN screwed up and their advertisers will pay a price.

the NFL should remember the blixie chix.

the NFL should remember the snickers fiasco.

the NFL should remember the homosexual pepsi commercial.
