ESPN pulls Hank Williams Jr. after he compares Obama to Hitler

Hank Williams Jr., the singer whose various videos for the hit song "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Monday Night" has served as the intro to "Monday Night Football" for 23 seasons, compared President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler during a Monday morning appearance on "Fox and Friends." The statement led to ESPN pulling his popular intro segment, best known to fans for its "Are you ready for some football?" ending, for Monday night's game between the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

During a discussion on the 2012 presidential race, Williams began discussing Obama's golf outing with Speaker of the House John Boehner. He said it was a political mistake, on par with "Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu."

ESPN fired Olbermann for one reason: he was too much a diva and drove his fellow co-workers crazy with his demands. It's the same problem that got Olbermann fired from MSNBC, too.

It'll be VERY interesting to see if ESPN finds a replacement for Hank Williams, Jr. though. Darius Rucker, a member of the band Hootie and the Blowfish and an accomplished country music solo artist in his own right, could probably be approached by ESPN to write a new theme song for Monday Night Football, since he's well-known to many high-profile ESPN employees (Rucker is close friends with both Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg of ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike in the Morning show).

ESPN has a contract with the NFL and ESPN would not make such a move unless the NFL directed them to do so.

ILIKE Hank on Fakebook and read his statement (which I posted on another thread.) It is unique in that he, a wealthy performer, unlike most other wealthy performers, talks not about some abstract issues like climate change, and international politics, but about plain folks in this country who are suffering as a result of the policies of this administration, and knowing enough about Hank, you can be sure that his concern is not calculated, but sincere and genuine. I dig the man.

They can fire all the GOP supporters they want but this time there’s no biting the tongue.

Gretchen has been a lose, lose, since the day she took the F&F gig.

I have watched it very little ever since Faux go their pantys in a wad and ditched E.D. Hill, at least E.D. was an unabashed conservative.

During the back and forth, Hank told the interviewer that he doesn’t like any of the GOP candidates but if he were t choose one of them, the one who attracted him most was Herman Cain.

may I be so bold as to point out who decided pres. nero was hitler and mikey was bibi? after all the times i’ve heard pubbies described as nazis i would have thought they would think jr was calling mikey hitler. especially since jr is an entertainer who is automatically lib.
i guess in their cold hearts these libs at abc and espn actually think that this terrible thing about pres nero. or then again it is just another opportunity to censor free speech by telling other entertainers what to expect if they speak their mind.

Look, no matter what you think about Obama, Hank screwed up, you don't say that about the President of the US unless of course, it were true, and it isn't. Hitler was a monster, his men threw jewish babies into the air and shot at them like clay pigeons, and other things I dare not mention, he was pure evil and so were the men who served under him. Obama is not like Hilter, Hank, you deserve to get fired. Maybe we'll see more of Faith Hill, now that's a definite win/win ...

I first knew she was dumb when I heard her talking about some fiscal policy, and repeatedly used the phrase “bucks,” rather than dollars (ie, 3 billion bucks). It works when some guy wins the lottery on a sitcom, or when friends are arguing over 20 bucks, but in that capacity it sounded awful. It was too forced.

I don't care about her politics, she's absolutely beautiful as in God created beauty and she sings terrific as well. I don't dislike people because they are leftists.

Narcissists project a grandiose but false image of themselves. Jim Jones, the charismatic leader of People's Temple, the man who led over 900 of his followers to cheerfully commit mass suicide and even murder their own children was also a narcissist. David Koresh, Charles Manson, Joseph Koni, Shoko Asahara, Stalin, Saddam, Mao, Kim Jong Ill and Adolph Hitler are a few examples of narcissists of our time. All these men had a tremendous influence over their fanciers. They created a personality cult around themselves and with their blazing speeches elevated their admirers, filled their hearts with enthusiasm and instilled in their minds a new zest for life. They gave them hope! They promised them the moon, but alas, invariably they brought them to their doom.

Not surprisingly, Adolph Hitler also wrote his own autobiography when he was still a nobody. So did Stalin. For a narcissist no subject is as important as his own self. Why would he waste his precious time and genius writing about insignificant things when he can write about such an august being as himself? -Dr. Sam Vaknin -Dr. Sam Vaknin is an Israeli psychologist. Interesting view on our president. Dr. Vaknin has written extensively about narcissism.

Some similarities:

Hitler blamed all the problems of Germany on the wealthy and elite.

Hitler was famous for his abilties as an orator.

Hitler had his brownshirts and special police to enforce his will and deal with any who questioned him.

Hitler indoctrinated youths.

Hitler took control of key industries (such as banking and automotive) that the People relied upon.

Hitler swore that those who came before were wrong, that he was right and that if the People gave him more power, he would make all their troubles vanish.

Hitler wrote a book detailing the trials and tribulations of his younger days.

Hitler desired control of the media to limit public access to information.
Obama desires control of the media to limit public access

I could go on but hopefully, eight is enough

both made alliances with Islam.
Both pushed for socialism.

Both were rejected by their fathers.
Both were revered by Europe at one time.

Both were liked by a Kennedy. Teddy or Joeseph Sr.

Both were born in different countries of where they were elected. (Ha)

Both surrounded themselves with radicals. (Bill Ayers)

Both disliked Jews.

Did they think it was too insulting to Hitler?

Hitler is secretly the Left's hero. They keep comparing everyone on the Right to Hitler, and then damning them because they don't measure up. The Left keep trying to tell us that Hitler was Ultra Right-wing, but they portray the Left half of the political spectrum as the whole spectrum. they count on the sheeple not noticing that Nazi means National Socialist Party. Socialism is Left-wing, so in reality, Hitler was not Ultra Right, he was Far Left, with only the Communists more Left-wing that Hitler.
