Stalin once remarked, “The death of a single person is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic.”.....................

This is no cause for rejoicing, for it isn’t even close to the break-even numbers. That number is 350,000, if you ask the experts even a year or two ago. Then it was bumped up to 400,000. Why? Pure politics.

After checking the job-turmoil-transitioning numbers of the high employment eras of Clinton and GW Bush, I found the weekly applications number to have been about 250,000 or so.

IOW, to get back to the times of near full employment, even 350,000 is too high.

And they are throwing a victory dance over 390,000+

What it means is that a huge percentage of those people filing for claims weren’t just part of job-turmoil-transition. They had actually lost a job that had disappeared for everyone else, too.

Have faith in God.
That happened to me once, from a company I worked for for over ten years.
I was shocked and devastated.
It was the best thing that ever happened to me.......

1. Hurricane Irene
2. Emergency Personnel in Tx. Wildfires
3. Toys R Us started hiring for “Holiday” season.
4. Halloween Retailers started “hiring” part time workers.

Easy.

But watch out because Best Buy just announced they will be hiring 1/2 of the seasonal workers, Toys R Us will be hiring 40K vs the 48K, and several grocers have announce a cut back.

All of this is unexpected and revised accordingly.

“but a government official suggested the surprising drop may have stemmed from a variety of “technical” issues not captured by normal seasonal adjustments.”

Like not being able to add or what?

I would love for them to add the numbers of self employed like my husband that has lost so much work. He doesnt have work and doesn’t get unemployment so all those peoplelike him are not even in the numbers.

It took me several days of hardcore praying and chats with leaders of my local church to help me just “let go and let God.”

While I’m depressed at being unemployed with no help, I’m also emboldened by the spirit of God. He will protect and guide me, I believe.

I, too, feel this was the best decision for me, but the stress on my family makes me feel like I’ve let them down everyday.

We will probably see many more of those "technical" issues pushing the joblessness numbers to a more favorable number [for Obama] in the coming months.

Do "technical" issues = WAG [wild a$$ guessing]?

==

In a quick scan of several articles, I do not see a 'revised' number for the previous week. hmmmm.

One article shows 'revised up' from two weeks ago.

Market Watch article does state this: "About 6.98 million people received some kind of state or federal benefit in the week of Sept. 10, up 95,242 from the prior week."

==

I am dubious of the numbers for last week. They smack of being fudged -- significantly. Maybe that was the "technical" issue.

There are plenty of good available jobs out there that are unfilled, just sitting there waiting for someone to apply. There must be, else why would we need to bring in millions more immigrant workers, each and every year?

Many months ago, Stuart Varney said on FoxNews that 200k new jobs per week would be required to just to get to the 'break even' point.

That 350k is nothing but a WAG to make the UE number look less ominous.

Thanks. Also - non-farm payroll benchmark changed by US Dept. of Labor -

http://www.nasdaq.com/aspx/stock-market-news-story.aspx?storyid=201109290900dowjonesdjonline000385&title=us-march-2011-total-nonfarm-payrolls-benchmark-revised-up-by-192k

“This means employment levels may have been better than originally reported in the year through March 2011.”

Upward and onward I suppose.

Another lie! These agencies pump up these numbers because they want Obama to get the credit when the markets rise but the fact is, the markets were going to rise because of the Euro Bailout.

Until they’re revised up again, which is inevitable. Unfortunately, I know of two people who will bump the number up next week.

New applications for unemployment benefits sank by 37,000 last week...

Under a Democrat President: the economy is improving.

Under a Republican President: 37,000 stopped looking for work in a dire economy.

You are so right, and I remember Varney saying that.

And the number aligns with the full employment math. If 1.2 million new jobs a year is a necessity, then that comes out to about 100,000 new jobs every month.

If full employment is a turn-over of 250,000 a week, then the max regular turnover could be only about 275,000 given the 25,000 new jobs each week. That would absorb first-time entries to the jobs market.

The 400,000 number is pure fiction, and it is in no way aligned with the near full-employment numbers of 250,000 of Clinton and GW Bush.

and they’ll be revised to over 400,000 again.

This pro homo, pro cross dressing media will go all out for their messiah.
I only hope an investigation happens when we get power to see how this corrupt media worked with the left
