the only thing those stupid pieces of paper are good for is to use in court to show that the attacker had a history of violence, and will help justify the shooting in the eyes of a jury.

They are stupid pieces of paper and in many jurisdictions the only thing they show is that the woman claimed to be afraid.
Regardless, sounds like she did herself and her community a favor.
