As of now, the 2012 Republican Presidential Primary race is all about Texas Governor Rick Perry and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, with no other candidate reaching double-digit support. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary voters shows Perry with 28% support and Romney capturing 24%. Before Perry entered his first debate, the Texan held an eleven point advantage over Romney, 29% to 18%.

I haven't read the book, I'm too buried as it is in my reading. But it was still stupid to write that. POLS have to think about the future and what will come back to haunt them, especially in the written word.
I can understand your concern, but being mad at Perry for calling a bad plan a bad plan, and one that must be restructured before it collapses, seems a bit of a stretch to me. I do understand your viewpoint, though, and in my opinion, there are legitimate things about Perry to be discussed or even angry about. I just don't see how him wanting to try to save SS for the future is one of the them, though.
I wouldn’t put too much stock into the McClatchy/Marist poll if it’s showing Bachmann at 12%...
