Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) and Rep. Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) said they were expanding their probe into a troubled anti-gun-trafficking program, two days after the Justice Department announced a shake-up of officials who oversaw the program.

In a letter Thursday to Ann Scheel, the acting U.S. Attorney in Phoenix, Messrs. Grassley and Issa essentially put the Arizona district office on notice, saying its role “in the genesis and implementation of this case is striking.” They sought extensive documents – emails, memos, notes and the like – from six top officials, including Ms. Scheel and Dennis Burke, the former U.S. Attorney who was ousted in the shake-up. The lawmakers had signaled on Tuesday that their investigation would intensify
The program, “Operation Fast and Furious,” was run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It allowed suspected gun smugglers to buy some 2,000 firearms, some of which have turned up in crimes on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border; most haven’t been tracked down. When Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was fatally shot in December 2010, two assault rifles linked to “Fast and Furious” were found at the crime scene.

Yes. A Google search of "Department of State" "Department of Homeland Security" and "Fast and Furious" obtained 78,000 hits. That means the people are figuring this out but not fast enough or widely enough. Hence, the claims that the MSM has lost control are premature. Even GOA's newsletters and press releases don't emphasize this degree of cross-departmental integration. Something is seriously wrong there. Everybody following this thing knows that documents are disappearing daily. Without more noise this thing is going to disappear.
I wrote Alan Gottlieb and chided him on it. This thing is growing way too slowly.
Maybe Obama & Holder had Guido & Luigi pay Alan a visit, to fit him for a pair of cement overshoes. Just in case he gets 'too uppity'...

AG Eric Holder testified under oath to congress he only knew about fast and furious a few weeks before,much less the corruption.Later... documents and a DOJ public letter on the DOJ web page revealed he lied.
The Assistant AG under Holder testified before Congress further stonewalling stating the “I don't know’s”.
One of the agent whistle blowers that testified under oath to congress was fired.
Two of the high ranking ATF officials that testified under oath to congress and said “I don't know” and stonewalled (to the point that even Democrat Cummings stated so on record) were given posh DC offices (promoted?)
The Director Melson who claimed he was not going to be the scapegoat secretly testified on the 4th of July 2011 and was said at the very least to have testified he was directed from superiors to not send certain documents to the congressional subpoena.Has now been reassigned from the head of ATF to a desk job in the DOJ right under Holder's nose.
They denied Agent Brian Terry's (Deceased) families rights under the Crime Victims’ Rights Act.
Conclusions
Obama needs to testify under oath. Obama has not shown any compliance to cooperate in the investigation.Sworn testimony obviously won't be given willingly therefore a subpoena (which is articles of impeachment?) is in order.
AG Eric Holder committed perjury,obstruction of Justice.Showed bias in denying Agent Brian Terry's family the Crime Victims’ Rights Act.
POTUS Obama has shown no actions to rectify AG Holder's crimes of perjury and obstruction of justice.The AG of the U.S. Holder has shown no compliance in cooperating accept to appoint an investigation to investigate himself. No basic common sense to disqualify from participation in a decision or investigation on grounds such as prejudice or personal involvement have been shown.No actions of suggestion of an outside special prosecutor.Therefore the POTUS needs subpoenaed/impeachment hearing/sworn testimony in writing and called to immediate action.
Can a POTUS be called before a congressional Committee?What is the POTUS protocol for this when a POTUS acts like nothing is happening nor takes immediate action against his AG?

You’re so correct, excellent points. I believe that when Holder is accounted for -all of this- will come out. Napolitano,Clinton,Holder,Obama all have they’re hands dirty in this.Holder is keeping it all under wraps.He has the power to protect and obstruct justice right now.I trust Issa is not stupid and is making sure Holder is not shredding all evidence.I think all of these moves of late... the reassignments, are the desperate cover-up attempt before Holder steps down.The 64 million dollar question is will Holder who shares the same plan as Obama (of destruction of the America we know) go to jail to protect Obama?A nice little planned resignation/stepping down spending more time with a sick granny or kids is coming but they are playing clean-up as best they can so that the BIG story coming out involving all of government is at a minimal.There are too many whistle blowers for them to skate away Chicago style.There was a rumored document drop on Issa’s office as well as all the other evidence he has.
The question is;what do you do when the people in charge of a witness protection program are the ones being protected from?
Just remember, Watergate was a cover up of a 2-bit burglary and it brought down a presidency. This one might lead to extradiction of a US President and US Attorney General to Mexico to face prosecution for aiding and abetting drug cartels!
IMO Grassley’s name is in this because a outside special prosecutor is coming quickly.
Every one of these people is too arrogant to take the fall willingly. The question really is: How much do they fear Barack Obama? So far, from what I've seen, the punk is incapable of inflicting damage the way Bubba was. He's not been around long enough to develop a cadre of thug henchmen. Mayhap this is why he's currying favor with AQ in Libya: Protection.
Holder, on the other hand, has no such leverage. He's toast, and he knows it but looks to be in denial.
Aiding and abetting,obstruction of justice (by the JUSTICE DEPARTMENT),perjury and the media keep this on the down low.If it were Bush and his AG he would be impeached and removed from office by now.
Holder is playing cover up. Melson did not resign as some in the media are now reporting he was reassigned.
