This is what Donald Trump said last week on
Greta’s show. The Donald said we would get some rain, and some wind, but no big deal. He said the news media was just trying to make get better ratings.

Can't we at least wait until the looting is under control before we start criticizing?
... wut? Oh. Never mind.

Irene was nothing compared to Ivan, Katrina, Rita, Wilma and Ike.

I include Ike because it hit our energy complex.

“Little damage seen in many places”

I'd say the headline should be:

“Little major damage seen in many places”

Where I live, 60% of folks lost power during the storm (about 20% of those folks have had it restored so far). That's hardly “little damage,” but most of it is just downed trees and lines, so it's minor damage.

But lots and lots of it. Lots and lots of minor damage.

They are so desperate they’re using car accidents to include in “hurricane fatalities.”

After Irene: Little damage seen in many places

That is only because Commander Zero, the world reknown meteorologist and Smiter of
Hurricanes, cut his well earned vaction short to sit at the complex controls of the old "Rove
Weather Machine" to protect the nation and guide us safely through this terrible attack by a
clearly upset Mother Gaia.

We had a very heavy dew in Michigan yesterday morning. It was horrifying, it soaked my shoes and my feet were wet till I took my socks off.

I need some FEMA money.

He changed this probable Cat 5 to a “mere” Cat 1./s

============================================= As a veteran of several hurricanes, a Cat 1 should not be written off as “mere” as this author has done. A Cat 1 can inflict some pretty damaging results...a Tropical Storm can, too.

It is a blessing that the storm has, so far, inflicted less than expected damage, but several people died and the water runoff to come can be pretty damaging.

============================================ Still, Obama, is so in control that the eastern states avoided Cat 5./s ============================================ If only we could avoid him. And, how is Martha's Vineyard? Michelle still drinking her "likka" there or has she come "home" to "likka" up?

The storm seemed to break apart quickly once it crossed into the New England area. Looking at local/regional/national radar screens, by this morning it was only “half there” (i.e., not the “full spinning circle” of a hurricane any more).

Here in western Connecticut just off the NY state line, at 12.30pm the rain has stopped, the wind pretty much died down, and the sun is trying to come out again.

There are some trees down and power outages. Just heard a couple of street pole power transformers blow within the past hour. Power never went off here.

Seems like the fiercest “blowing winds” from Irene came from the hysterical media and clueless politicians like Bloomberg in New York....

Just sayin’...

While I’m glad damage was minimal I’m starting to wonder if the media didn’t totally blow this whole thing out of proportion.

“Watch Obama take credit for this.”

But of course. If it wasn’t for the timely intervention of His Omnipotent Benevolence, we vassals would have had a far worse situation on our hands.
