Good thing the NEIC reported this.

Because if it was on ANY American news outlet, there would have been a ONE HUNDRED PERCENT chancer that it would be completely false.

Man I felt that one. Cokedale is about 50 miles as the crow flies from me. The whole house shook. The dogs went nuts. My wife thought a bear slammed against the side of the house trying to get in.

Michelle Malkin had tweeted that she felt it a couple hours ago.

I'm just saying that after the Libyan propaganda lie-campaign, lead by AP and the New York Times, I don't believe the periods, commas, and semicolons in any American-based media outlet.

Nothing. I don't even believe in the spaces between the words.

If she were my wife, she’d feel the big one quite frequently.

Ya know I thought an earthquake rolled through western Missouri a couple hours ago as the hotel shook and the hangers were smacking into one another in the closet which was open Could not have reached all across Kansas could it? Separate event?

The Yellowstone caldera is waking from its slumber.

For the sake of those in the mid-west, I hope I’m wrong.

So WHY is the LIAR in Chief so interested in Libya?

The question is really quite easily answered but you have to THINK independently, something Americans accross the board are not able to do.

WHY?

Obama has clearly violated American law and has illegally used the American military to change regimes in another country.

WHY?

Why did Obama support the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt?

Why did Obama forgive $Billions of Egyptian debt?

Why does Obama want Egypt to have US Tanks?

Why did Obama DEMAND Israel WITHDRAW to pre-1967 borders and then the Obama regime denied he ever said that?

These questions will all be answered next month when Obama throws Israel under the bus. The UN will vote to force Israel to withdraw and typically the US will vote to block that resolution.

But NOT next month. Maybe you will finally get it when Barry Hussein Obama orders US FORCES to join the UN attack against Israel to force those jews back to their old borders so the Egyptian Muslim brotherhood can start the slaughter of Jews that every every radical Muslim dreams about.

Soon you will have it confirmed to anybody with an IQ even approaching room temperature: Barry Hussein is a radical Muslim plant doing EVERYTHING he can to destroy America and Israel. He has to get re-elected so he can't be too obvious but this guy is not the sharpest knife in the set, he continuously exposes his Muslim roots but Americans are used to having the NY SLIMES tell them exactly what to think.

Did you see the story circulating today that says Libya will be ruled by Sharia law? Obama and his radical Muslim buddies plan that for your neighborhood eventually too. Stay tuned but you probably won't believe it until it's too late. You are, whether conservative or liberal, a brainwashed American, thinking pretty much what MSM tells you to think.

Repeat after the NY TIMES, Obama is a Christian, he is not a radical Muslim, Barry is what his book says he is, pay no attention to your thoughts, THE NY SLIMES controls your thoughts. Pay no attention that all of Barry's past records are sealed. There is nothing to hide.

Raton
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raton-Clayton_volcanic_field

“A few hotspots are thought to exist below the North American Plate. The most notable hotspots are the Yellowstone (Wyoming), Raton (New Mexico), and Anahim hotspots (British Columbia). These are thought to be caused by a narrow stream of hot mantle convecting up the Earth’s core-mantle boundary called a mantle plume, although some geologists prefer upper-mantle convection as a cause.”

My sincerest thanks for the correction, silverleaf! I knew there were volcanic plumes in the area, but I always thought they were part of a larger caldera associated to Yellowstone.

Good reading!

Hello Graneros,

I grew up outside Trinidad near the little Hamlet of Hoehne.

I was at Vermejo Park Ranch @ 7 years ago and fast asleep in one of their cabins when a miniture earthquake hit @ 2am in the morning. It jostled me out of bed and was gone.

I suspect all of the mining for natural gas in the area has created some imbalances????

Take care,

MFO

Good in-depth article
5.5 earthquake hits Trinidad area, Colorado, US

http://thewatchers.adorraeli.com/2011/08/23/5-5-earthquake-hits-trinidad-area-colorado-us/

Colorado doesn’t have a whole lot of earthquake activity. There was really no way to monitor scientifically till about 1960. Here is an interesting link on the seismic activity that has happened here thus far...

And according to this - there have been 156 earthquakes in the past 100 years (8.22.1911 - 8.22.2011)

So 10 of those have been in the past 24 hours
