WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is traveling the Midwest on a new $1.1 million bus purchased by the Secret Service, an impenetrable-looking conveyance the size of a cross-country Greyhound, painted all in black, with dark tinted windows and flashing red and blue lights.

Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan emphasized that the bus wasn't purchased solely for the president and would be used for other dignitaries in the future.

I’ll probably be flamed for this, but I’d rather $1.1 million of taxpayer be spent on an American-made bus than some entitlement. At least the company who made the bus and their employees actually produced something of value.

Nice!

We could also call it Unicorn One. It runs on rainbows and Skittles shoot out it’s tailpipe.

Yea, but the people who run the bus Mfg. Are evil capitalist, and he’s gonna tax the Hell out of them. They have too much money. And if the folks on the line get laid off, well... He’s all about the jobs you know.

DESTROYING THEM!

I never thought about it like that. I just assumed Obama was on the bus the whole time, mettin’ and greetin’ the American people. This IS a total waste if he’s just using it as a shuttle service.

Whoever is in charge of safety in this set up failed big time...the loose cable is a “trip” waiting to happen....on second thought, that would be okay, too...:))

You are sure it wasn't built in China?

Every time Obama takes a dump, it costs us taxpayers. When are the Obamas and entourage off on their latest vacation? - I think he is tone deaf.

Nope. He flew in...to get on a bus. Seems I remember a certain female governor being roundly criticized for doing that.

On Tuesday, he will be in Peosta, Iowa.

On Wednesday, he will be in Atkinson, Illinois.

On Thursday, he will be in...er...Martha’s Vineyard.

Looks like the SS will have to drive an empty bus back to DC...ready for any foreign dignitaries who need to go on a campaign bus tour in the mid-west.

To me it appears that the bus shown is a Prevost XLII model coach, a Canadian subsidiary of Volvo. I guess the two (2) major US bus manufacturers, weren't good enough, MCI Motor Coaches or American Eagle.
