The riots that hit London and other English cities last week have the potential to spread beyond the British Isles. Class rage isn’t unique to England; in fact, it represents part of a growing global class chasm that threatens to undermine capitalism itself.
The hardening of class divisions has been building for a generation, first in the West but increasingly in fast-developing countries such as China. The growing chasm between the classes has its roots in globalization, which has taken jobs from blue-collar and now even white-collar employees; technology, which has allowed the fleetest and richest companies and individuals to shift operations at rapid speed to any locale; and the secularization of society, which has undermined the traditional values about work and family that have underpinned grassroots capitalism from its very origins.

I agree.
He's got this wrong. Class warfare is a product of Cultural Marxism. The underclass is spoiled with high-end technology and state handouts which defies the very notion of poverty (think of real poverty, think of Africa). They are ungrateful for years of financial aid and feel that they are entitled to even more money. By their standards they are poor -- they compare themselves to the rich celebrities (Brad Pitts) that they see on their cell phones, blackberries, etc. -- and their radical sense of equality demands the state pay out even more money.

He is right about this. When where Marxists/Leftists ever traditionally religious? Never. Their cause is their religion. And their cause demands that they redefine marriage, family and all the bulwark values that support capitalist society. Their radical equality demands it -- for them capitalist society is all about inequality and oppression.
David Cameron is proposing to ban facebook and twitter which is a step in the right direction because these rioters do not deserve that after what they did in the riots. I hope David Cameron takes away the whole internet from these criminal thugs.

If by “poor” you mean: have a roof over their heads, at least one car per household, clothes, a cell phone, a computer, at least one TV, AC during the summer, heat during the winter, and food. Because that’s the “working class poor” as it is defined in the US and UK.
Screw their attitude. I work around 70hrs a week running my own business, with all the risk and sacrifice that involves. I AM THE WORKING CLASS, not some drip clocking 35hrs a week at the 7-11.
