The last time I saw TRHPS was in 1980 in a Georgetown midnight matinee and I’d had several more Molsons than I probably should have.
I can’t really recall most of the dialogue....:))
I’ve tried watching it on TV but without the live interactive theater aspect, just couldn’t ‘get into it’.
The dogs who are here already have finite lifespans and no chance of replicating bad traits if neutered.
Get a good start now on eradicating the filth who breed bad ones and time will take care of the rest of the problem.

I agree. I finally got the renters out of our rental home. They got 2 Pits, bred them, pissed doesn’t even begin to describe how mad I was. My homeowners will not cover that breed and I had no intention of paying more to let them have them. Plus they were destroying the back porch and chain link fence. HATE those dogs.
We had a black and white Springer. She passed away at the age of 12. Wonderful dog, loved to go out in the boat, she could swim with us for well over an hour before she got tired.
True but *not* trying avoids the whole “desire to chase” scenario which is a pretty good start at keeping your parts intact....:)

Just to be obnoxious, did you know that Dobermanns are the *only* breed created solely for the purpose of nailing humans?
They don’t have to be fast...they just have to be faster than a person.
Yet we rarely see a credible account of one attacking somebody innocent.

What I’d like to see are necropsy results on the formerly loving dogs who “snapped”.
Several tick borne diseases and hypothyroidism both cause sudden, often drastic changes in behavior.
TBDs are rampant in the US now, especially in warmer climates and hypothyroidism is at an unprecedented high in *all* breeds.
Dr Jean Dodds, DVM has been studying this problem for decades and has recently published an excellent book on the possible causes/effects of low T.

I do the same. When we take the dogs to the beach to run and play, any Pit or any big, aggressive dog goes after them, he gets Pepper Spray. If that doesn’t work, the dog will take a permanent nap.

And that’s why I would never neuter Odin.
He does see me as his “mate” and reacts appropriately if I’m threatened.
As I’ve stated before, my first two Dobes saved me from enduring 5 *more* years of sexual abuse by an uncle.
I owe those dogs [and Dobes, in general] *so* much that I can never hope to fully repay them.
All of the neutered male rescue Dobes I’ve had were more a visual/psychological deterrent because all their “drive” had been left on the surgery floor.
Even my little spayed Kayhill bitch would throw everything she had into protecting me, bless her heart.
You’re obviously a big, deep-voiced dude yet I, being a runty little squeaky thing, have never had problems with “respect”.
I have to rely on solely on body language and attitude to maintain my ‘alpha status’.
Odin’s “daddy” is a big, basso profundo and Odin respects and loves him dearly but he is, at the heart of it all, *my* dog and it’s fortunate that ‘daddy’ is not an abusive husband.
I don’t think that would end well at all.
The dog is nothing if not devoted.
I could provide statistics but I’m not wasting my Friday doing it. Pits are the preferred breed for ghetto thugs. Why? Because they are cheap and they can have their choice at the pounds because they are full of the ugly beasts because most people that have them can’t afford to spay or neuter so they just keep popping out more little beasts. It’s not just blacks, Hispanics and some white trash rednecks are pretty fond of them too. The wife thinks men that have them are afflicted with SPS.

LOL! But keep in mind, your son wasn’t bred to fight and I doubt he has a genetic makeup subject to brain lesions that cause him to have spurts of uncontrolled violence. See my tag line, the 2nd part applies to Pis as well.
