HHS: Obamacare-Funded Health Centers for 'Migrants' Won't Check Immigration Status

(CNSNews.com) - The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced on Tuesday that it has awarded $28.8 million to 67 community health centers with funds from the Obamacare health reform law.

Of that $28.8 million, "approximately $8.5 million will be used by 25 New Access Point awardees to target services to migrant and seasonal farm workers," Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Spokeswoman Judy Andrews told CNSNews.com. HRSA is a part of HHS.

Andrews said that grant recipients will not check the immigration status of people seeking services.

“Health centers do not, as a matter of routine practice, ask about or collect data on citizenship or other matters not related to the treatment needs of the patients seeking health services at the center,” Andrews said.

Further, the grant recipients are required to serve "all residents" who walk through their doors.

“The Program’s authorizing statute does not affirmatively address immigration status,” said Andrews. “Rather, it simply states that health centers are required to provide primary health care to all residents of the health center's service area without regard for ability to pay.”

These Obamacare disbursements seem to contradict a claim President Obama famously made in a nationally televised speech to a joint session of Congress on Sept. 9, 2009.

“The reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally,” Obama said then.

When Obama said these words, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) shouted out from the House floor: "You lie!"

This is no surprise. What is also no surprise is that no Republican will do a thing about it. Guess this is another project for TEA party conservatives. And it is sooooooo easy. Pass a law that states the following: Every Federal Department, office or agency or any entity being operated with any Federal funds must deny any employment, monies, loans, grants, food stamps, routine medical care, or any expenditure of Federal money to any person who cannot prove that they have entered this country legally or does not have the legal immigration papers such as visas, green cards, work permits, and others documents as specified by law. Any Federal Department, office or agency or any office or agency that uses any Federal funds found in violation of this law is subject to a $10,000,000 reduction in its budget for the current and subsequent year for the first offense and $1,000,000 for each additional occurrence. The Secretary of that Department or the highest paid manager of the offending office or agency shall be terminated immediately if there are in excess of 100 offenses. The Federal employee or employees of the Department, office or agency involved in breaking this law will be terminated immediately and if the employee or employees received bribery in any form, they shall be liable for the amount of the bribery plus a fine of no less than $250,000 but shall not exceed $1,000,000. The training and notification of employees of this law shall solely reside with the Secretary of that Department or manager of that office or agency.

If there are 30 million illegals in America, that’s enough to fully populate more than 50 congressional districts. Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana are made up of 51 congressional districts.

I think this election will be our last chance to stop it or face a future with a permanent democrat majority.

This is a mere drop in the bucket compared to the cost of the free care our emergency rooms are forced to hand out to these parasites. Believe me, here in Texas they know their “rights” and show up in huge numbers daily for their free medical care. They don’t even throw a $5 bill at the cashier on their way out the door.
