In part, the budget deal is to blame... however, here is worse. China and Russia KNOW that this thing is designed to tank us. So, now they are pulling the carpet rug from under us, and that is the more salient point.
Companies invested over there under the support of RINOs and Democrates are getting the shaft now that China is starting lock up the companies and divest.

An inverse relationship exists, and as the dollar loses value, gold goes up. Mostly because of a lack of faith in the dollar, or the government behind it.

I had a thought after I left that to analyze the fervor for fleeing to gold, the slope of the gold curve is an indicator of the collective anxiety level. That is, as the slope increases, the fear has increased and with the fear the price of gold in US$ has increased.
Until obama is out of office, this will continue.

There is a real need for community organizers among the tea party, to organize communities into defensive structures with plans for guard duties, muster calls, and shooting skills in urban structures and yards. As such, the military rifles which shoot through walls and have accuracy to three and six hundred yards are not the optimal weaponry. Small carbines in pistol calibers--like lever guns and the kel tec Sub2000 class, .22 lr with collapsible stocks to adapt to differing sized operators--and pistols with laser point&shoot sights, and red dot scopes for carbines are more ideal for the coming community defenses. Whatever the rabble bring can be incorporated into the households who repel them. Learning to properly hide your weapons of defense is another skill to be learned, because the 'autorities' will eventually get around to visiting areas where rabble flash goons have been repelled by the residents.
Oh, and make sure each home has sevral fire extinguishers within easy reach ... the trained goon squads now doing flash robbery and mayhem will try to burn out those who do not bow to their 'Holder's people' thuggery.
