They’ll have to pardon me while I cheer on the Hobbits and Tea Partiers and their “war” against the American Government to save the Republic.
Now all I have to do is find time and energy to join them.

“they scorned compromise”?
“Tea Party members went on Fox News to complain that it only called for $2.4 trillion in cuts, instead of $4 trillion.”

Even with the $4 trillion there would have been NO cuts. And the debt would have continued to rise year after year. That’s even assuming that future congresses would honor this deal. Not likely.
To say that they Republicans or Tea Party Republicans did not want to compromise really means that did not capitulate even further.

These last few months, much of the country has watched in horror as the Tea Party Republicans have waged jihad on the American people.

Sheesh.....don't soil your panties, Joey.

Well, let’s just make sure the war is waged skillfully, and to completion, and that only unconditional surrender is accepted.

The thorniest problem will be the disposition of the enemy POWs at war’s end. Should we even take prisoners?

heir goal, they believed, was worth blowing up the country for, if that’s what it took.

Like Obamacare?

Interesting that someone that wouldn’t dare speak a contrary word about Islam would use Islamic terms to denigrate the Tea Party.

This is analogous to them using homosexual terms to denigrate conservatives.

"We have an unemployment problem"

Most CEO say they won't hire as long as that Terrorist is President.

Oh how many jobs has the New York Times created? or lost?

As for Nancy's unemployment benefits stimulus how did that work?

Most people think that as long as Obama is President there will be no new jobs.

It was Obama's Weather Underground buddies, Ayers and Dohrn, who were at war with America.

"Their founding document [the Weather Underground's] called for the establishment of a "white fighting force" to be allied with the "Black Liberation Movement" and other "anti-colonial" movements[1] to achieve "the destruction of US imperialism and the achievement of a classless world: world communism."..."-Berger, Dan (2006). From the New York Times, August 24, 2003

"they [the Weather Underground] employed revolutionary jargon, advocated armed struggle and black liberation and began bombing buildings, taking responsibility for at least 20 attacks. Estimates of their number ranged at times from several dozen to several hundred."

"It was at the Chicago home of [Bill] Ayers and [Bernardine] Dohrn that Obama, then an up-and-coming 'community organizer,' had his political coming out party in 1995. Not content with this rite of passage in Lefty World — where unrepentant terrorists are regarded as progressive luminaries, still working 'only to educate' — both Obamas tended to the relationship with the Ayers."

By Scott Swett and Roger Canfield

"As a gesture of solidarity, the Vietnamese who [Bernardine] Dohrn met in Budapest presented her with a ring made from an American aircraft shot down over North Vietnam. Bill Ayers would receive a similar ring while meeting with Vietnamese communists in Toronto. He later recalled being so moved by the gesture that he 'left the room to cry.' "

"In July 1969, [Bernardine] Dohrn [Bill Ayers' co-terrorist wife and leader of the Weather Underground], Eleanor Raskin, Dianne Donghi, Peter Clapp, David Millstone and Diana Oughton, all representing 'Weatherman', as Dohrn's faction was now called, traveled to Cuba and met with representatives of the North Vietnamese and Cuban governments."

"FBI files from 1976, recently made public under the Freedom of Information Act, confirm the connections between Weatherman, Havana, and Moscow. Weatherman leaders like Mark Rudd traveled illegally to Havana in 1968 to engage in terrorist training. There, camps set up by Soviet KGB Colonel Vadim Kotchergine were educating Westerners both in Marxist philosophy and urban warfare."

With the national debt at $14 trillion and democrats wanting to raise it by 2-3 trillion more, the Tea Partiers are called terrorists and the enemy waging war on the U.S. because they have the honesty to say “No more. The nation can’t afford it”

The ones who are willing to sacrifice by advocating budget cuts that will probably hurt us personally, are labeled as “hostage takers” because the other side wants to spend money they don’t have.

Go figure.

My own view is that Obama should have played the 14th Amendment card, using its language about “the validity of the public debt” to unilaterally raise the debt ceiling.

Is this “end justifies the means” policy he is pushing better? These people are such hypocrates! I like the way this writer cites articles (also from The Times) to prove his point. I think they are mad because we are not as stupid as we look (to them).

The debt ceiling increase WAS the compromise....or at least was supposed to be the compromise. In exchange for reducing the 1.5 trillion dollar deficit we are running. That’s why they were voted in. The voters continue to be on our side....I hope we are able to maintain that because if this next election does not go well for conservatives, this ship is sunk.
