The following twenty-two House members stood firm and opposed the Boehner bill, which is nothing more than a vehicle which will be sent to the Senate, reworked by Harry Reid into something even worse than it already is, and then returned to the House. Boehner will dutifully bring it up and the Tea Partiers who voted for it will then vote against it, but it will not matter. Boehner and Reid will pass the Bill in the House with Democrat votes and Obama will sign it. The votes today cast by conservatives, many of whom are good people, are very much like the Christmas vote for the Health Care Bill. The original House bill contained prolife language, the so-called Stupak Amendment. It passed and went to the Senate which stripped the Stupak Amendment from the final bill. It came back and passed in the House with many proaborts voting for it even though many of the so-called pro-life Democrats voted against the final bill. Voting to advance this bill was a huge mistake. It pains me to say it, because I like many of the Congressmen who voted for it. But the truth is the truth.

To 31 - You are very dramatic. Perhaps a session or two at Marcus Bachmann’s clinic might help you cope.
Oh, I also have heard West’s explanation for capitulating. Perhaps being so gung-ho he is just used to breaking things. Because anyone with a scintilla of “gravitas” would know that when you’ve an out of control debt that the logical solution is to reduce spending.
IMO you guys are all way too anxious to declare the 22 Naysayers “heroes” and everyone else wrong. Time will tell.
Criticize all you want, but don’t insult the man. That’s all.
Semper Fi
Seems like it’s mighty hard for you to stop being a jerk.
They need and deserve our complete support! Pray for them.
However, there is a story on three of them at: http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2011/07/29/house-approves-boehner-bill-barely
Actually it was only 18 that really voted against the bill. 4 were able to change their yes votes to no when they saw their votes were not needed to pass the bill.
thanks for that information. It makes me think differently about Gowdy and Scott who I praised.
So that is your conscience vote to continue on this spiral out of control budget mess we are in? By the way it was compromise that got us into this situation with the flip flopper Moderates in congress and the White House. I say shelve both pieces of legislation and don’t raise the debt limit then we will be forced into cuts. We should give the Democrats what they want a limited government shutdown no compromise. Take no prisoners!!!!
My conscience vote? What???
