HOLD THE LINE!!

They'll have to come back to you. DEMAND a REAL CUT in spending!! Do not under any circumstance approve a debt ceiling increase!! Instead, insist on real spending cuts NOW!! The country is bankrupt. Do not allow them to take us deeper into debt! It's time for the HOUSE to do its job of controlling the spending!

The federal government is bankrupt due to Obama's reckless spending. Cut up his credit cards and force him to quit spending! It's time to put Obama and company into receivership! Make them come to the House to authorize current payments on the debts as they come due so that we don't default. Do not authorize any spending whatsoever on discretionary items until the spending crisis is solved. Pay the obligated social security checks, the military, the interest and the required debt payments, but that's just about it until our fiscal house is in order!

Make no bones about it. We sent you to Washington for one reason and one reason only and that is to take control of our big spending, big taxing problems and get our economy going again so our our people can get back to work!! Do not let the DC ruling class sway you. Do not take your eye off the ball. Do not fail to do your job! Our nation's survival depends upon your vote!!

Tell Boehner to get HIS ass in line!! Cut the damned spending, already!!

Reinforcements are coming in 2012!!

Rebellion is brewing!!

DON'T TREAD ON ME!!

According to Internal Revenue Service data, filers with $35,000 in taxable income paid about 10 percent of that income in taxes on average, while filers at $200,000 in taxable income paid 24 percent of their income to the IRS in 2007.

Jim, here’s the problem.

Since 1933 we’ve lived under something called the Modern State. This entity takes in vast amounts of taxes and redistributes the money to certain constituencies via the federal faucet. The institutional Democratic and Republican parties fight over the direction of the outflow of the federal faucet. This outflow goes to individuals, corporations, the Foreign Policy Community and the Military Industrial Complex, among others. The purpose of the two parties is to collect money from their constituencies to direct that outflow to those constituencies. It’s how business is done in America.

The Modern State is how we project power as the world’s policeman. The Modern State is how we govern and take care of each other. The Modern State is how the Union is held together: a combination of carrot (pork) and stick (a large standing army).

The Tea Party’s goal is to return to a model of federalism last seen before the Civil War, and that means the starvation and demolition of the Modern State. This is why John McCain and David Brooks view the Tea Party as quite literally insane. From their perspective, there is only one way to govern in today’s world, and that is the Modern State. Without the glue of a national debt, a fiat currency, pork and military intimidation, how could the Union be held together, considering that its citizens no longer share a common vision?

This is what terrifies the Establishment. They do not believe that a return to the principles of the Founding Fathers is possible or even relevant in today’s world. They see federalism as the bygone relic of the Republic that died at Appomattox. They view the Tea Party as not merely a threat, not merely subversive, but insane.

This is what we're up against.

More is never enough for the leeches. They will always demand even more. Once and for all take a stand and stop the irresponsible spending. Don’t let them squander away the wealth and prosperity generations of Americans worked so hard for.

Has Sarah taken a stand yet on whether the ceiling should be raised?

Sarah was on the Greta Show the other night. Sarah stated that she would like to see the ceiling not raised.

Have a heaping cup of STFU boner. How dare that pissant (with all due respect to FR’s pa), threaten his own members over this POS.

Make it a permanent hold on the debt ceiling at the level it is at. If the tax and spenders won't accept a phased in balanced budget, make it an instant one. Make them prioritize. Pay the debt interest, military, Social Security, Medicare then evaluate every remaining penny in the tax receipts and decide what should remain.

We, the tea party people will march on Washington again and again right up to election day!!

Can we get a FR-sponsored rally/march going sometime soon? (And I don't mean a half-day event with a few speakers.) Can we get a movement going to park our selves down there for a week or more? Time is running out fast to get anything done, the time to act is now.

All the phone calls and faxes and tweets ain't getting it done. Time to turn up the heat on that “brewing rebellion!”

Just called Tom McClintock’s office (4th District, CA), and his staff says that he is voting NO as well.

I’m 100% in favor of repealing the 16th and 17th amendments and don’t believe we need a BBA.

It is imperative that for our Republic to survive the 17th Amendment must be repealed. That alone would greatly shift power back to the States.

I am not in favor of the BBA either. All Congress would do is redefine the GDP or some other gimmick that would allow them to continue spending as they are now.

To: Jim Robinson; All

I must, with great respect, disagree on this issue. I think what Thomas Sowell wrote the other day is true:

“The most basic fact of life is that we can make our choices only among the alternatives actually available. It is not idealism to ignore the limits of one’s power. Nor is it selling out one’s principles to recognize those limits at a given time and place, and get the best deal possible under those conditions.”

Thomas Sowell is talking and thinking like an adult, not an idealistic teenager.

The Speaker of the House is doing the best he can under the circumstances - he is only human. The “Tea Party” is of great value to the GOP and has had a great positive impact. However, there are limits to its current power and sphere of influence. Acting like an idealistic teenager has its limits. Ultimately, we all have to grow up and face the real world. Compromise....as ugly and distasteful as it can be...is a reality we must operate within. The key is to know how much compromise is acceptable.

I don’t think we are going to be able to make meaningful changes to the fiscal situation until Mr. Obama is out of office and more fiscal conservatives take control on both the House and Senate. For right now, compromise is the only “alternative” available.

There are two we can count on with this issue. Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul.
