Migraines have in fact been associated with previous presidents, including Thomas Jefferson and Ulysses S. Grant, Dr. Shapiro noted. Interestingly, however, reports of migraines among more recent presidents are less prevalent — which may be more a reflection of better PR than fewer migraines.

The migraine story is NOT what is hurting Bachmann nor is it the silly story about her husband possibly being gay. What is hurting Bachmann is the same thing that is hurting all the other candidates atm... Perry. In the last few weeks Perry has shot up for low single digits to 35% on Intrade and has now ripped the lead from Romney which is also plummeting down into the 20’s now

The party is about to coalesce around Perry, people know a winner when they see one, and with literally the fate of the entire western world at stake we can't get this one wrong and let Obama have another 4 years.

“Although there have been no prominent studies linking high-heeled footwear with migraines . . .”

Also high intelligence.

Also high stress.

This whole thing gives me a migraine.

Bachmann is not my choice, but the hatchet jobs on her are getting more frequent and more weird and more tiresome.

OMG, and to think that she would be carrying the football too. We can’t have that. The Press will have to find a better Candidate for the Republican nomination. Preferably someone who can lose by a large margin.

John F Kennedy suffered from horrible back pain and numerous other ailments that required him to take as many as eight medications a day to function. While a Represtative he had been in and out of the Hospital and had missed many days on the House floor because of debilitating back pain.

Yes, the lack of funding for research in migraines is grossly negligent.

"If you're going to be President of the United States you've got to be able to do the job every day, all the time. There's no real time off in that job," he said.

The country just fell apart when Reagan was in the hospital nursing a gunshot wound didn't it.Perhaps with Pawlenty as POTUS it would fall apart as with the likes of Jimma' Carter who had to do EVERYTHING himself.

Migraines being an issue is one of the most asinine talking point to hit the press!

The left is just seeking an opening to undermine any conservative Republican candidate that would refuse to play the part of willing loser to Barack Hussein Obama. Today, it's Bachmann's headaches. Tomorrow, who knows? If Perry gets in and becomes the front-runner, the leftmedia will find something, anything (not necessarily medically-related) to smear him with and call him 'unfit' for the office. This is just the modus operandi of the left. They have a weak candidate (Obama) with no record of achievement to run on and the economy in free fall on his watch. What to do? Distract! Make up or exaggerate some 'problem' the opposition allegedly has and hammer it, 24/7. That's the Democrats obvious plan and if you think someone other than Bachmann or Palin are the GOP candidate this won't happen, you would be living in a dream world.

When Bachmann is incapacitated or miscalculates due to migraines and half the country lays in ruins is she going to show another doctor’s note?

If Obama had this problem, people here would be all over him for it.

How does one carry on presidential tasks when playing 75 rounds of golf, dozens of trips abroad, weekly parties in the White House, not to mention campaign trips disguised as government business ?????

No one has ever asked if Gabby Giffords has missed any votes because of the gun shot.

Then again we had Woodrow Wilson serve out his presidency in a coma, or something close to that, since we will never know the full truth.

Hmm. I wonder what the press would think about a presidential candidate who had been hospitalized 30-plus times, had Addison disease and probably colitis, had a back so bad it required serious, mind-bending medication, and took cortisone, testosterone, lomotil, paregoric (with opinum), and Tuinol, just to name a few drugs, on a daily basis?
