I bet if they laid off the person paid to hand out toilet paper, they could afford plenty of toilet paper. But that wouldn't be the nanny state's way of doing things, would it?

Even under Jimmy Carter, things weren't this bad.

So much for Bloomberg’s efforts to clean up the city.

It is beginning. Many of us preppers knew that toilet paper would be the first to disappear.
...and now we see it.

The city is so hard up for cash that it’s rationing toilet paper in women’s public restrooms — to the point where bathroom attendants are doling out a few measly squares per patron — along the world-famous Coney Island boardwalk.
Government IDIOCY!!
Can not afford toilet paper but can afford to employ a person to hand it out??????
Does anyone think we are not getting screwed by our Government at all levels?

I believe they pull stunts like this to cause maximum pain to the taxpayers. It’s why they always threaten to cut firefighters instead of desk jockey bureaucrats, because nobody would care if a desk was empty but they can see a house burning down with nobody to fight the fire. Evil people causing intentional distress to protect their own jobs.

Regina Ballone, 25, of Brooklyn visited a boardwalk bathroom at West 16th Street Wednesday and was "grossed out" at the thought of someone else handling her toilet paper. I remember my wife reporting that someone handed her one square of toilet paper when she visited the ladies room during a stopover at the airport in Amman, Jordan.

People laugh when I tell them that toilet paper will be a valuable trade item once the collapse comes.
But it will be worth its weight in gold.

I guess Sheryl Crow was right!
“I propose a limitation be put on how many sqares [sic] of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. Now, I don’t want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where 2 to 3 could be required.”

It’s being stolen. Either in the stalls (a common problem in public restrooms) or straight out of the warehouse. Probably both...

When I was working as a contractor at various Army posts in the 1980s, I found signs over several toilet paper dispensers that read, "Why Use Two When One Will Do?"

I was staying at a hotel in Aktau, Kazakhstan in 1992. I was there for 3 days, so I was handed 3 squares of toilet paper.
