The U.S. Federal Green Building PolicyOn January 24th, 2007, President George W. Bush signed Executive Order 13,423, Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management.1 The Executive Order requires federal agencies to meet the standards of green buildings, and lead by example in promoting green buildings in the United States.2 The U.S. federal government, however, seems to have been led by examples of the states, industry, and the consumers.
