Oakland woman pleads guilty in eco-terror attacks

An Oakland woman has admitted taking part in a radical environmental group's arson attacks on a University of Washington research center and a Northern California corral, in a plea agreement calling for a four-year prison sentence.

Briana Waters, 35, pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in Tacoma, Wash., to arson and related charges in the May 2001 firebombing of the university's Center for Urban Horticulture in Seattle.

She also acknowledged acting as a lookout for arsonists who set fires at a government corral for wild horses and burros near Susanville (Lassen County) in September 2001.

Waters, a violin teacher with a 6-year-old daughter, served 31 months in prison before an appeals court overturned her conviction in the University of Washington arson, said her lawyer, Dennis Riordan. He said she would spend about 11 more months behind bars, with time off for good behavior, if a federal judge accepted the plea agreement.

Prosecutors said the Earth Liberation Front aimed the attack at the office of a professor who the group mistakenly believed was genetically engineering trees.
Well, what she believed should count for something, shouldn't it?

And I believe she should be locked away for many, many years. And that should count for something.

Stupidity should hurt. People that are this clueless should have some kind of very painful result for their stupidity.

Doesn’t fit the national LSM narrative.

Chain her to a tree and make her watch a group of loggers clear cut a forest. Then pour honey on her and feed her to a bear.

“How did I know that it would be a WHITE woman who comes from a middle/upper class background”

Because the women who do these things often have way too much time on their hands to sit around and think and get upset about things they have no business worrying about. IF half these women joined the military, they would have captured Bin Laden and secured Afghanistan within a week of 9-11. For some reason these upper middle class girls have so much aggression inside their systems.

When I used to write on land use issues, I often used the term ‘terrorist’ regarding scum like this and often got hell for it by those not paying closer attention. “Oh they’re harmless, they’re just old hippies and college kids.”

Apparently not.

Glad to see that finally our courts are taking the threat of eco-terrorism more seriously than they used to.

Well, what she believed should count for something, shouldn't it?

Let us weep for this misguided woman who is stricken with the pathetic need to feel self-righteous about a non-issue.
Humans have been genetically engineering plants and animals for millenia. The grains we eat are altered from wild varieties, and the resultant abundance allows people to be vegetarians if they so wish, rather than gnawing on leftover animal bones. I'm not sure if violin strings still have to be made from cat guts anymore, but they used to be. So her profession is in debt to animal exploitation. Maybe she feels guilty about that.

I read the article and couldn't find their rationalization for setting fire to corrals. The gov't rounds up wild horses and burros and tries to adopt them out just so they don't have to shoot them. Like I said, it's a pathetic syndrome, endemic among college grads in the liberal arts. My guess is she doesn't know a photon from a proton, and couldn't integrate equations to save her skin. And I am serious about weeping for her ignorance. And after we weep for her, lock her up for another 4 years!

This is the practical result of society as a whole ALLOWING the ivory towers of academia to take ‘those young minds of mush’ and fill them with goals and ideas designed to see black as white, up as down, war as peace, freedom as slavery and so on.

In the Judeo-Christian tradition, man was given dominion over plants and animals. In the world we live in, Man sits atop the food chain. In the Green/Communist tradition and worldview, Man is placed as subservient to the whims of ‘leaders’ who use plants and animals to ‘guilt’ the sheep into giving power to the wolves.

The sheep, having been educated into a state of Stockholm Syndrome most of their natural lives and thanks to the fore-mentioned Ivory Tower Communists, play along willingly. Anyone with two thought molecules rattling around their skull and rejecting the indoctrination is considered a threat to their version of society.

Thus many, sarcasm aside, really do believe that “she had a good reason” and “She believed in what she was doing” therefore it’s OK. Worse, we should emulate here devotion to Gaia.

We used to call such people mentally ill. Today, we give them diplomas and elect them to Congress.

Thank you, I appreciate the good words.

The Enviro/land use issue is one I have been actively involved in going back to 96. As a motorsports guy, and one raised in the Adirondack Park of NY, I understand too well the results of ‘environmental awareness’ on the freedoms, rights and even privileges of Americans.

The Msmlibs use their foot soldiers in the ecoterrorist groups to good effect, all the while claiming plausible denyability. The schools and colleges are nothing but indoctrination centers of environmentalism. When you look at the big picture, you notice that all the Leftist crap being taught is based on it being ‘for the good of the planet.’

Think about it...so many different policies coming out of Democrat politicians mouths...what are they? Energy issues? Pro Choice issues? Even Gay issues?

All of it comes down to restricting man’s impact on the planet through energy use, living location, and freedom of reproduction. Kids trained to value the concept of Gaia and all that that relates to, are easy to manipulate with the global warming and other catastrophism because they spent years having a bunch of BS ‘facts’ drilled into their formative minds.

And that makes them willing participants in their own control. See the UN’s Agenda 21 and the whole “Turtle Island” concept.

Wasn’t it Kruschev that said something like “Not you, but your children”? What a strange coincidence, that.

Amen to all you said.

I simplify all, to the idea that God isn’t good enough, his creations, other than mother earth, sucked, and that true believers in that doctrine have to take over and make it all right.

The height of arrogance, ignorance, and wrong headed meddling in things they have no clue about, in my mind anyway. Your level headed specific explanations, get more to the reality of understanding for those seeking truth as to who is doing what to whom and why.

Entirely too few truth seekers in today’s world.

“Entirely too few truth seekers in today’s world.”

To seek truth is to deny propaganda. That’s exactly the kind of thing that the education system has bred out of at least 2 generations around the world so far. Notice how anyone ‘denying’ man-caused global warming is no different from being a ‘9/11 truther’ in the eyes of the MSM? So obvious for anyone caring to look...and so few want to. Worse, so many don’t know how.

I’m actually nearly finished with a book on that particular subject.
