Every year 105,000 Christians are killed because of their faith.
This shocking figure was disclosed by Italian sociologist Massimo Introvigne, representative of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) on Combating Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians, at the International Conference on Inter-religious dialogue between Christians, Jews and Muslims, sponsored the Hungarian presidency of the European Union (EU) in Gödöllo, near Budapest.
Every five minutes, Introvigne said in his speech, a Christian is killed for his faith." The figure does not include the victims of civil wars, or wars between nations, but only the people put to death because they are Christians.
"If these figures are not cried out to the world, if this massacre is not stopped," Introvigne continued; "if it is not recognized that the persecution against Christians is the first worldwide emergency with regard to religious discrimination and violence, dialogue between religions will only produce wonderful symposia but no concrete results."
The conference on peaceful coexistence between religions was hosted by the Hungarian government as a highlight of its EU presidency of the European Union and saw among its participants Cardinal Péter Erdo of Budapest; the Custos of the Holy Land, Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa; Archbishop Antonio Maria Vegliò, president of the Pontifical Council for Migrants; Maronite Archbishop of Beirut Paul Matar; Metropolitan Hilarion, foreign minister of the Russian Orthodox Church; the representative of the European Jewish Congress Gusztáv Zoltai, that of the Organization of Islamic Conference Ömür Orhun; and the general secretary of the Committee for Islamic-Christian dialogue in Lebanon, Chakib Hares Chehab.
The Egyptian diplomat Mahmoud Aly assured participants that his country is about to pass laws that will protect Christian minorities, by prosecuting crimes as hate speech and banning hostile gatherings of outside churches.
But the danger is for many Christian communities in the Middle East to die out for emigration, Cardinal Erdo said. For all Christians will escape feeling threatened. And Europe should be preparing for a new wave of emigration, this time of Christians fleeing persecution." Metropolitan Hilarion, for his part, recalled that at least one million of the Christians enduring persecution in the world are children.

These are victims that no one ever hears about.
I can hear Bill Maher sniveling...
conservative estimate, I would say.
> These are victims that no one ever hears about.
All we hear about is the “plight” of the poor “palestinians” whose homeland was supposed to be Jordan.
If I remember correctly, the “palestinians” were Arabs who voluntarily left Israel when that nation was founded, so as not to pollute themselves by living in a Jew-run nation.
Of course, the Arabs who stayed behind in Israel have done nicely for themselves, as anyone who isn’t afraid to work in a free nation can do.
The “palestinians” tried to join their Arab “brothers” in their new homeland of Jordan, which they were promised, and to which they were enticed by their Arab brothers to come in order not to live in Israel.
The were NOT expelled from Israel.
However, they WERE expelled from Jordan.
By their Arab “brothers”.
In a rout that killed over 10,000 “palestinians”.
Where did they go?
Who would take them?
Why, they went to Israel.
Because their Arab “brothers” needed a “reason” to kill the Jews and eradicate Israel. A reason that would evoke sympathy from mush-brained, soft-skulled, pin-headed “liberals” and their cynical mentors on the Left.
The figure does not include the victims of civil wars, or wars between nations, but only the people put to death because they are Christians.
wow. just wow. thank you for posting this.
i just wish liberals would read this.
...and this doesn’t even touch the incredible suffering of things like daughters of Coptic Christians, kidnapped and forced to convert out of fear, and then legally married - stolen from loving parents forever.
...such pain to me, would be worse than death.
And the socialist media only reports on the poor Izzlumics that are killed by the hated US military. Christians are free game for the Muzzie murderers. Cut off a few heads, no worries.
Obama is helping the Libyans, Egyptians, Yemeni’s , He is going for twice that many next year, plus he wants to taks out the Jews,. All of them.
All of them.
i think you are correct about our Christian President
(with the Christian ministers who vouch for him...)
but THIS year isn’t over. U.N. could declare Palestine a State by October.
then if Israel objects, it’s “P2P” and “Arab Spring” time.
...he needs to move faster, now that he sees he might lose in 2012...
Yes, I tweeted about this awhile back and I’ve posted a number of threads here re Christian persecution.
Christians being murdered and injured by jihadis and other terrorists — just doesn’t seem to be a subject most people are interested in — eventually they will be interested, though.
