FreedomWorks: Tea Party may stay home if Romney nominated
YahooNews (The Daily Caller) ^ | 6/10/2011

If Mitt Romney wins the Republican nomination for president, Tea Party activists may not show up at all to vote in the general election, one leading group associated with the Tea Party movement is warning.

“I think that’s a potential problem,” said Matt Kibbe, FreedomWorks’ president, during a wide-ranging interview with reporters at The Daily Caller.

He also warned that if Republicans nominate another “John McCain,” activists might even vote third party in 2012. “I believe in redemption, but at some point, you sort of give up,” he said. “And we’ve given up on Mitt Romney.”

Geez, the election is still over 16 months away and already we're getting the marginally-lesser-of-two-evils crammed down our throat.

I can't speak for everyone else, but for my part I'm effing tired of it.

“Mitt Romney, at this point in time, attracts voters who voted for Obama in ‘08 in sufficient numbers to win the ‘12 election.”

That’s nonsense. In the November elections, more than 700 patriots were elected to state legislatures, giving control of 26 states to conservatives.

Ok “retarded ass” and “Dumbass” were uncalled for but I cant stand to see us making this mistake. Dont get me wrong I find her brave and committed but thats not enough. You have to know how to cultivate your image among diverse audiences and know when to keep your mouth shut.

You must be very young, because you are buying into the whole GOP elitist and corrupt media scam....hook,line and sinker. They have been doing this for decades. It goes something like this: they pick the milk toast rino candidate and we are to fall in line or the democrat wins...blahblahblah.

It’s high time that conservatives say to these GOP establishment types...NO..get on our bandwagon or hand the election to Obama! They will be responsible for the downfall of this country...not conservatives who stand on principles.

Many of us have had enough of this game. I’d rather stand on principles and if that means third party and a Sarah Palin ticket...so be it.

Don’t get me wrong...I have fallen for this same ruse for decades and parroted ‘the party line’..but Sarah is no Ross Perot....lol. She can win and win big!

You had better back off your statements right now or you are going to get zotted. I don’t like reporting my fellow freepers to the mods, but this is WAY OVER THE LINE HERE!

No way Mitt the Mormon will get the nod. Mark my words—he will fold by November. Others will step forward—Perry Perhaps, no old faces this time—no Newts, Palins, or Pauls. New people will come forward to take the flag—Newt, Mitt, even Palin will only be considered for VP slots.

Still, there could be a 3rd Party run to muddy the waters. Palin-Trump? A tea party take over of the Constitutional Party or Reform Party? This is a long shot. I could see a challenge from the left as well.

Sarah Palin cannot get enough of the popular vote(at this time)according to polls. That is the only thing you need to know. Why would you nominate someone with 60% unfavorable ratings? Because you want your way 100% or else?

"The republican party" hierarchy is very short of republicans. It is just as much an end justifies the means entity as the democrat party.

The end is the accumulation and maintainence of power, the Constitution be damned.

Two points. Mitt won't get the nomination, but his presence in the primaries is a good thing, IMHO, because it will cause the ultimate nominee to clearly espouse conservative principals..that how the nomination will be won. It is the GOP BASE that votes in primaries.

More importantly, the 2012 election will be a referendum about Obama. People, especially independents, will be voting FOR or AGAINST Obama, and NOT FOR the GOP candidate. That is why the Dems/MSM are so eager for a clear GOP frontrunner to emerge, why they are trying to force as yet undeclareds to get in...as soon as the clear choiuce emerges, they can then devote ALl their resources and efforts to destroying that person.

FreedomWorks: Tea Party may stay home if Romney nominated.

That could happen and a third party might rise and the GOP go the way of the Whigs.

Mittiacs, even stealth mittiacs, are not welcome to use Freerepublic as a forum to promote their rino liberal by playing faint praise denegration of conservative candidates like Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann. And BTW, polls are used to manipulate weak minds, kinda like the mindset you’re displaying.

I identify far more with the Tea Party and Sarah Palin than with Romneyism, but if it’s a choice between Romney and Obama, it’s no choice: I will vote for the Mittster.

There is no way I’ll vote for Romney. Not going to happen.
I’ll vote third party if I have to.

That pretty much sums it up for me too.
