Rick Perry Just Might Run
Daily Beast ^

Posted on 05/30/2011 6:42:08 PM PDT by Jim 726

Conservatives longing for a 2012 savior are increasingly fixating on Texas’ governor. Peter Boyer talks to Perry about his suitors, his state’s economic success—and his timetable for deciding. One of the photographs that Texas Gov. Rick Perry keeps on his BlackBerry is a portrait of Aurora P. (“Rory”) Perry, the family’s black Labrador Retriever, who last year acquired a key role in local Perry legend. The governor and the dog were out for an early morning jog when a coyote suddenly appeared, growling at Rory. Perry, who carries a Ruger .380 handgun in his belt when he jogs, pulled the weapon and shot the coyote dead. When some Austin locals protested that Perry’s reaction was excessive, and dangerous, he shrugged it off. “Don’t attack my dog,” he said, “or you might get shot.”                  It is the sort of dustup that, say, Mitt Romney would never be involved in—although Romney might well prefer a coyote controversy to another conversation about Romneycare. A lot of conservatives would apparently prefer it, too. Neither Romney, the presumed frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination, nor the other contenders, has excited enthusiasm in the Republican base, which seems to want a candidate with less baggage than Newt Gingrich, less squish than Romney, and more magnetism than Tim Pawlenty. The right’s hot new prospect of the moment is the arch-conservative governor of Texas, the man with the square jaw, thick mane, and snakeskin cowboy boots.

I left the information there for everyone to see. I’ll let conservatives decide for themselves if:

1. Extending “the benefits of telemedicine to individuals living on the Mexican side of the border.”

and

2. We must say to every Texas child learning in a Texas classroom, “we don’t care where you come from, but where you are going, and we are going to do everything we can to help you get there.” And that vision must include the children of undocumented workers... Those young minds are a part of a new generation of leaders, the doors of higher education must be open to them. The message is simple: educacion es el futuro, y si se puede.

Is something they can believe in.

Everyone who questions can go straight to the source.

You can choose to be deceived if you want. You can keep believing that RINOs don’t stink. But Si, Se Puede is not something I believe in. Giving undocumented workers any benefits is not something I believe in and I think a number of American citizens feel the same way. Mr. Perry is a stealth RINO. I will not vote for him.

"Mexico and the United States have a shared history, and a common future. And it is along this border where we will either fail or succeed in addressing the education, health care and transportation needs of our two peoples."

Let me translate this sentence for you: SPP -- the Security and Prosperity Partnership, aka the North American Union.

A plan initiated under President George H.W. Bush, and further developed by President Clinton

My answer to Perry and any of his clones? NO. Not now, not ever. These treasonous bastards are working behind closed doors to END this sovereign nation.

They will do so only over my dead body.

Good for you, Brenda appreciates the extended loyalty.

You still have not shown any similarity to your original statement.

Personally I hope you not I have no need in voting Perry, because Palin is in. Just remember, after the Primary, any “sit at home, won’t vote”, no matter the GOP nominee, is a vote for nobama.

You are absolutely correct. That is why he fought so hard for the Trans Texas Corridor. He wants the NAFTA Union. He wants the US to have to pay for 3rd world Mexico.

It is quite obvious from his statements that he sees the North American Union as a welcome reality and will sell out the US to make certain it happens.

No Perry ever.

“Texas lawmakers will head into a special legislative session on Tuesday after they failed to come to an agreement on legislation linked to the state budget, Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst said on Monday.”

Not a fan of Perry; he has more waffles than IHOP, but Dewhurst is a REAL jackleg, totally not to be trusted.

I support conservatives so Sarah or any other conservative would be fine.

I don’t know who or what Brenda is or how it has anything to do with RINO Gov. Good Hair running for president.

If you don’t see where Perry says he wants to send our money south in his own statements, I can’t make it clearer for you than he already has. You can continue to be fooled. You can believe what you want. It’s there for everyone else to see. They can decide for themselves.

The crazy that decided that 10-year-old girls must be given STD drugs even without parental consent?

Ummm, parents could sign a document and opt their kids out of said vaccine. It was pretty clear that kids weren't forced to take anything that parents didn't want them taking.

>> Ummm, parents could sign a document and opt their kids out of said vaccine. It was pretty clear that kids weren’t forced to take anything that parents didn’t want them taking. <<

No, not really. There is an existing conscience clause for all vaccinations. But unless you are willing to sign an affidavit that your religion prohibits you from giving vaccinations in general, you must permit the vaccination.

Notice, also, the horrifyingly dictatorial position Perry initially assumed: An executive fiat, accompanied by claims that his law was supreme over the legislature. That’s batsh!+ insane.

>>The order is effective until Perry or a successor changes it, and the Legislature has no authority to repeal it, said Perry spokeswoman Krista Moody. Moody said the Texas Constitution permits the governor, as head of the executive branch, to order other members of the executive branch to adopt rules like this one.<<

>>Legislative aides said they are looking for ways around the order for parents who oppose it.<<

Welcome to FR.

Knew it wouldn’t take long to flush out one of the sho-nuf paulista nutz.

What, you just get out or just get your first ‘puter?

Pretty mouthy for a wet behind the ears newbie. See your pretty mouthy in general. Guess you don’t like hanging around anywhere too long.

Hope you can calm down enough to join in with some serious input.
