OROUMIEH LAKE, Iran – From a hillside, Kamal Saadat looked forlornly at hundreds of potential customers, knowing he could not take them for trips in his boat to enjoy a spring weekend on picturesque Oroumieh Lake, the third largest saltwater lake on earth. "Look, the boat is stuck... It cannot move anymore," said Saadat, gesturing to where it lay encased by solidifying salt and lamenting that he could not understand why the lake was fading away.

The long popular lake, home to migrating flamingos, pelicans and gulls, has shrunken by 60 percent and could disappear entirely in just a few years, experts say — drained by drought, misguided irrigation policies, development and the damming of rivers that feed it.

But, let's all blame Global Warming, increase the taxes on gasoline and raise taxes.

You can't fix stupid; and if you drain off water through 'misguided irrigation policies'; then limit the water re-filling the lake through "damming of rivers that feed the lake" - and then have a drought on top of this ..... Golly Habib ... what did you expect to happen?

Also, it should be noted that Teheran, Iran's capitol city, sits on multi-fracture fault lines similar to Los Angles.

Geologists have predicted that when the earthquake comes, Teheran will be leveled. An Iranian geologist was sent to prison for making this information public.

So, I think there are interesting days ahead for Iran in the near future.

Sure seems that way. Feels like the whole world is on fire. From man made disastrous, like this one, with the mismanagement of the water. Natural disasters and political disastrous, terrorism, world economy(which is a man made disaster) all coming together for the perfect storm. We need to have more than our house in order, we also need to get our relationship with God in order. It appears that we are in for one heck of a ride.

The same thing is happening to the Aral Sea - north of there on the border of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan - for many of the same reasons.

I would bet my next paycheck that Obama is already trying to think of a way to send them American money to help with the drought. No, I am not being sarcastic.

From Obama’s own statements and actions, the general idea seems to be, Screw Joplin, Screw Arkansas, the important thing is to ‘save the Muslims first’.

How many billions and billions of dollars has he sent to Pakistan, Libya, and Hamas, vs. how much money has he provided in disaster relief.

The numbers speak for themselves.

It is my opinion that Obama doesn't give a damn about America. He is obsessed with all things Muslim and to hell with America. (stupid, racist, White Christians) Again, no sarcasm intended.

He will come up with some kind of an Aid to Iran proposal either direct or laundered through the U.N.. You know, for 'humanitarian' reasons.

When it comes to anything Islamic, he just can't help himself.

Just as a side note(think of the book of Revelation) and a question for anyone who wants to answer it. This lake borders Turkey. If you look at a map, it would be a pretty good place to cross with an army to attack Israel. Can anyone tell me, if the lake dries completely up, if that would be possible? To drive tanks and trucks over it? I would think you could but salt can be pretty nasty to metal. As the crow flies it looks like it would be something along the lines of about 700-/+ to Jerusalem.

I just bought his book about a week ago. I haven't gotten very far in the book but, saw him on It's Supernatural. You know, Perry Stone has been saying for years that the anti-christ would be a mulah. I kept in the back of my mind but, at the time thought, nah!!! I'm singing a different tune now. Over the years I started to wonder if all the westerners who were predicting about how the end times would be and who would be the key players. There were many things that just didn't quite fit right. Although I haven't read very much of his book yet, what I heard seemed very plausible.

Funny just in the past couple months or so, I've been bugging God about where America fits in all of this. I'd always wondered but, was really getting focused on that.
