The Supreme Court has sustained Arizona's law that penalizes businesses for hiring workers who are in the United States illegally, rejecting arguments that states have no role in immigration matters.

From the article;

“The decision upholding the validity of the 2007 law comes as the state is appealing a ruling that blocked key components of a second, more controversial Arizona immigration enforcement law. Thursday’s decision applies only to business licenses and does not signal how the high court might rule if the other law comes before it.”

The federal government mandates the US of E-Verfiy for its contracts. I wonder if Breyer is aware of that. Lamar Smith is sponsoring legislation to make E-Verify mandatory nationally. Failing that, the states will enact their own mandatory E-Verify legislation like AZ.

the Hispanic voter, who are soon to outnumber the White voters across America.
No, Whites are projected to be a minority in about 50 years, with blacks and hispanics making up the majority.

You are absolutely right that Russell Pearce deserves the credit for our immigration laws (and a LOT more). I didn’t know about Kobach and do not question that he deserves credit too for writing and defending it. Thanks for the info.

Pearce’s success in supporting and saving Arizona and America is why the scummy little commie rats have begun a recall effort. The full story on that is available at: http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/arizona/article_81fbd792-872c-11e0-9cfc-001cc4c03286.html .

Make that 30 years. By 2039 half of the population of the US will be minorities as defined by the USG.

By 2019 half of the children 18 and under will be minorities.

Whites will be a minority in the sense that if you have any percentage of anything other than white in your bloodline, you deemed nonwhite. By that definition, I am nonwhite as are all of Sarah Palins children and thousands of other people who look like they could be a member of Bing Crosby’s family!

I see you believe the disinformation too. Ask yourself, “Have I ever seen a Hispanic woman at an amusement park or local park who didn’t have a busload of little children with her? “Have I ever seen a young Hispanic woman anywhere without her children?” Probably one of the rarest sights in the entire USA is a Hispanic woman who doesn’t have any children.

Employers "will hesitate to hire those they fear will turn out to lack the right to work in the United States," (Breyer) said.

And that's a good thing, Justice Breyer. With e-verify, employers will know one way or the other.

In the mid-90s, I was at a congressional hearing on immigration and met an INS agent who told me he was one of the two workplace enforcement agents for California, Nevada and Arizona.

Within five years of an amnesty passing Whites will drop to a minority.

Note the phrase “Congress chose to leave to the states”. Apparently the court ruled on the interpretation of current law, not on the question of whether the federal government may assert sole authority over immigration matters.

“By 2039 half of the population of the US will be minorities as defined by the USG.”

But a disproportionate percentage of persons under 18 would be minorities, so white Anglos would still be well over 50% of the population. And since non-citizens can’t vote (at least not legally), nor can felons in most states (and minorities comprise a disproportionate percentage of felons), white Anglos would be an even higher percentage of the electorate.

Thus, it will take much more than 30 years for “minorities” to be a majority of the electorate. 50 years sounds about right.

BTW, all this is assumes that recent immigration patterns stay the same; any change in our immigration laws and enforcement thereof could change things considerably.

You mean non-Hispanic whites. 54% of Hispanics self-describe themselves as white.

Bureau of the Census: An Older and More Diverse Nation by Midcentury

"The non-Hispanic, single-race white population is projected to be only slightly larger in 2050 (203.3 million) than in 2008 (199.8 million). In fact, this group is projected to lose population in the 2030s and 2040s and comprise 46 percent of the total population in 2050, down from 66 percent in 2008.

• In 2050, the nation's population of children is expected to be 62 percent minority, up from 44 percent today. Thirty-nine percent are projected to be Hispanic (up from 22 percent in 2008), and 38 percent are projected to be single-race, non-Hispanic white (down from 56 percent in 2008).

• The percentage of the population in the "working ages" of 18 to 64 is projected to decline from 63 percent in 2008 to 57 percent in 2050.

• The working-age population is projected to become more than 50 percent minority in 2039 and be 55 percent minority in 2050 (up from 34 percent in 2008). Also in 2050, it is projected to be more than 30 percent Hispanic (up from 15 percent in 2008), 15 percent black (up from 13 percent in 2008) and 9.6 percent Asian (up from 5.3 percent in 2008).

Go here for more detailed tables

NB. This is based on the 2000 census. The 2010 Census changed some of the projections, e.g., the date that minorities will be half the population was moved from 2042 to 2039. The date that minorities will be half of the children under 18 was changed from 2023 to 2019.

It is worth remembering the impact immigration has on these numbers. The U.S. adds one international migrant (net) every 36 seconds. Immigrants account for one in 8 U.S. residents, the highest level in more than 80 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest level in our history. And by 2050, one in 5 residents of the U.S. will be foreign-born. Currently, 1.6 million legal and illegal immigrants settle in the country each year; 350,000 immigrants leave each year, resulting in net immigration of 1.25 million.

Since 1970, the U.S. population has increased from 203 million to 310 million, i.e., over 100 million. In the next 40 years, the population will increase by 130 million. Three-quarters of the increase in our population since 1970 and the projected increase will be the result of immigration. The U.S., the world’s third most populous nation, has the highest annual rate of population growth of any developed country in the world, i.e., 0.977% (2010 estimate), principally due to immigration.

87 percent of the 1.2 million legal immigrants entering annually are minorities as defined by the U.S. Government and almost all of the 500,000 to 1 million illegal aliens entering each year are minorities. Generally, immigrants and minorities vote predominantly for the Democrat Party. Hence, Democrats view immigration as a never-ending source of voters that will make them the permanent majority party.

It is also worth remembering that 300,000 to 400,000 anchor babies are born each year to illegal alien parents. This translates into one in every ten births in this country. Essentially, we are being colonized by the Third World, a process that stems from the 1965 Immigration Act that changed the demographics of the US forever.
