Tax cap rally devolves to shouting match

Assembly Republicans organized a rally calling for the imposition of a two-percent cap on local and school property tax increases, but it was crashed by a coalition of liberal and labor groups who want a “circuit breaker” adjustment to property taxes, in which higher income taxes are used to provide tax relief to less-affluent individuals.

Joe Seeman, a local leader of MoveOn.org, engaged in several shouting matches with cap supporters yelling “Tax the Rich!” as he was called a communist and socialist. He asked his debaters whether they were rich; one woman carrying a tea party “Don’t Tread on Me” flag said he was the one who was rich.

It’s time we “man up” to these libtards. If they start shouting and asking if we are rich, tell them it’s none of their pinko commie business. Then tell ‘em “IT’S NOT YOUR MONEY”.

The “less afluent” pay NOT taxes unless you’re talking about property taxes and sales taxes.

Give up and quit? We didn’t get into this tax mess overnight, and we’re not going to get out of it overnight.

Hell, I lived in NY for almost 20 yrs and got out 20 yrs ago so yes it took time. But it seems you have a pathetically weak Republican party, downstate thug union corruption and a venal political class in Albany. So please excuse my lack of sympathy...I remember the rot beginning in the 60's with my friends suddenly announcing that they we moving...not to another part of town or even Rochester or Syracuse but OUT of the state.

I saw the welfare state destroy not only black families but most of the upstate...one at a time...Folks don't talk about the NY fascist welfare system but they really do think you belong to the state
