NEW YORK (AP) Some relief from suffocating gas prices will likely arrive just in time for summer vacation. Expect a drop of nearly 50 cents as early as June, analysts say.
After rocketing up 91 cents since January, including 44 straight days of increases, the national average this past week stopped just shy of $4 a gallon and has retreated to under $3.98. A steady decline is expected to follow.

Heard that on the news and thought “BS”.
Never seen gas drop after Memorial Day and anyway all kinds of stuff is going to be more expensive as well.
Get back to me when they’ve dropped a $1.50.
Hundred dollar oil will work just fine.
Priase the mighty "O."
Praise the mighty "O."
Oh, the end of May is a long way off. Don’t forget that the second Gaza flotilla hasn’t attempted to reach Gaza yet. Don’t forget that a couple of Iranian Navy ships are currently docked in Syria. Don’t forget that the Egyptian government has flipped and a flotilla that found no harbor in Egypt last time will likely find one this time.
The fundamentals haven’t changed, this is just the pro-Obama media trying to spread some happy-happy-joy-joy between now and election time for the emperor.
And the scary thing is people will believe what you said. The enemedia will say Obama brought down the prices and the lemmings will be like “Hail Ming-er Obama”!
....are these the same experts who are always “shocked” and “stunned” when their predictions are wrong?
Where do I apply for a job as an “expert” - I can be surprised when I’m wrong too.
Today I paid $4.12. At the rate the price is going, By Memorial Day it will be $4.75 so a 50 cent drop will still keep it above $4.00. Then there’s another price gouging Holiday. July 4.
Be prepared for an "unexpectedly" experience.

Anything with AP on it is pure obama BS. It’s as ugly as that sasquatch he’s married to.
If he’s talking about underhanded price controls, be prepared for NO gas at many locations.
Unfortunately you are right.
I second that.
Like warming causing cool temps, lower prices mean it will actually cost more.
