I think James May (of Top Gear fame) best summed up the French as "land burning communists."

To be honest, I was a bit disturbed to see people stomping up and down in the streets like they just won the superbowl.
The class thing to do would have been to scrape him off our shoes with quiet dignity, look straight into the camera lens and say “who's next”
Instead we have kids playing in the streets.
Most of them WERE kids when the towers were hit, so OBL was always a childhood monster- I have no idea what that feels like, so maybe I am seeing it wrong.

FWIW, I think most of those “thousands” of US citizens who were out celebrating outside the White House were Obama supporters, called out to celebrate their Dear Leader.
OTOH, I agree with the Cheese-eating Surrender Monkey bit.
Now, let’s get out of Libya and stop helping the Muslim terrorists take over Africa.

RE :"
Many in Europe have questioned not only the manner of the killing of an unarmed man, "
But we didnt Waterboard him. That counts for nothing? How about our CandC Obama getting a peace prize? No points for that either?
In France you only march for more government freebees,

The street celebrations were mostly Obama-bots cheering for their Dear Leader.

So the Euros are upset about Americans celebrating Osama bin Laden’s demise. Gee, how terrible is that? The EU didn't have 3,000 innocent men, women, and children killed on 9/11/2001 either. The EU did squat in Iraq and Afghanistan (for the most part) while Americans have borne the lion's share of WIAs and KIAs.
Cry me a river Euro wussies! The Muslims are about to take over the major capitals of Europe and your “best and brightest” intelligensia still persist in their love affair with huge numbers of Muslim immigrants. Euros — prepare to convert to Islam, die, or be enslaved by your new Muslim masters.

Unarmed man? So are the surrender monkies suggesting that we cut off his arms before we shot him in his face?
‘Cuz, if so, then great!

It started with the President himself coming on at 11:30 pm to make the announcement.
Obama wants maximum PR from this event, but his actions are raising up the status of UBL and Al Qaeda and lowering that of the President.
the announcement should have been made by mid-level Pentagon people, not a President in the middle of the night. Proof of the raid, and UBL’s body, should have been made public immediately. Body should even have been shown to some journalists. Then simply dispose of the body respectfully, without the nonsense kowtowing to PC fake-muslim sensibilities.
focus on the military aspects, keep the politics and PC’ness out of it.
The president could then comment 1-2 days later.
But Obama is a narcissist and a PR-whore, so he will use the Presidency for that purpose instead.

Are white Christian American conservatives even ALLOWED to be angry?
After all, haven’t we used the downtrodden rest of the world as our footstool?

Yeah, I didn’t tramp through the streets shouting “USA” or anything...
I just went down to the local bar and ordered up a “Bin Laden” - two shots and a splash of water.

From season 12 of Top Gear:
James: "...And there's more fast small car news from Renault with this, which is the Mégane R26 R and I think that looks really great as well."
Richard: "Yeah yeah, I saw that and thought of you straight away, mate. No I thought, what that James May is gonna want is a hatchback with red wheels, six-point harnesses, a carbon fiber bonnet and plastic windows - that's him all over."
Jeremy: "And James, it's French - who you like to think of as land-burning communists. It's perfect for you in every way!"
Richard: "How did you arrive at wanting that?"
James: "Because I like it."
Mr May has an apparent distaste for most things communist. (Which isn't a stretch, all things considered.)

We are in 100% agreement. I said the same thing, nearly identical, in some other places. Likewise, I noticed that a lot of those celebrating in DC were college kids. At 1st, I was thinking that they were just looking for an excuse to party. But then, like your realization, I though about the fact that OBL was truly a scary monster, as they were 8-11 years old when the WTC was destroyed. And they saw it in full color on every station for a week straight.
Realistically, people simply react in different ways.

I agree...this reaction is now all cheap emotion and I can see why the Europeans are a bit disdainful.

As a Christian I did not rejoice at Bin Laden’s death; however, as a Christian and an American I did rejoice that he was no longer able to perpetrate his brand of evil.
