The view from (some) on the right in regard to the Bin Laden news is: waterboarding is vindicated.
One GOP Congressman tweeted: Wonder what President Obama thinks of water boarding now?
The reason is that there's a direct line to be traced from the big news to data collected at GITMO -- data that was almost certainly collected under duress.

Yes, it has been vindicated. All of GWB’s policies regarding the War on Radical Islamist Terrorism have been vindicated by the actions of the Obama administration. I love and admire President Bush and the men and women of our Armed Forces. God bless them all and comfort their families.

“First of all, no one was waterboarded at Guantanamo Bay. That’s a myth that’s been perpetrated around the country by critics.
The reports do not say the intel came from Gitmo, it’s been reported the the intel came from CIA holding locations abroad
From the link I posted;

and
“It is true that some information that came from normal interrogation approaches at Guantanamo did lead to information that was beneficial in this instance. But it was not harsh treatment and it was not waterboarding.”
There was probably more going on in the holding locations, but this is the most direct statement I’ve seen about where the intel came from. If there’s conflicting info out there that I missed from someone as trustworthy as Rumsfeld, can you post a link?
