According to Brian Williams, the “NBC Nightly News” anchor, some journalists received a three-word e-mail that simply read, “Get to work.”

Wishful thinking about bin Laden’s death ricocheted across the Web — and then, at 10:25 p.m., while Mr. Obama was writing his speech, one particular tweet seemed to confirm it. Keith Urbahn, the chief of staff for the former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld, wrote at that time, “So I’m told by a reputable person they have killed Osama Bin Laden. Hot damn.”

Not a shining moment for Brown.
It didn’t happen...congress and the WH came to an agreement but this is what he did....one of my relatives in Afghanistan...got the letter over there...and he said please don’t let this ruin my credit...all the military did get their regular pay...but Zero had the military send out all those letters...here you have men deployed worrying about their wife and children without any money to buy food...pay mortgages...it was awful for all those men, women and their families.

Jeeze .. the it was likely scripted and photographed for the Arab press. Disgusting.

I'm not sure why I always feel the need to defend the New England *I* grew up in...but I do. I grew up in a small seaside town in New England and everyone was a hardcore conservative/libertarian although there weren't any labels. No one trusted the government with the exception of our token liberal who spent a lot of time whining about the sandpiper's natural habitat.
People just lived their lives, helping others if needed, minding their own business otherwise and there was a lot of freedom and very, very little fear. In fact- the only times I remember being a tiny bit afraid was during really bad nor'easters when the power was out for a couple of days, and that was more excitement than fear.
Those people would spin in their graves at what New England has become.
