Yes.

I believe that Obama has been secretive regarding his past. I believe he has lied about it. I don't buy the story he's told us about his parents. I don't buy the story about his education. I believe he's a sociopathic liar.

But the document looks legitimate, and the narrative that this is a grand conspiracy with forged documents is laughable. It reminds me of a buddy of mine who used to spend hours trying to convince me that the WTC towers were blown up and that a plane didn't hit the Pentagon.

9/11 Trutherism is much more widespread than you might think.

He's backed off a little bit of it, but it was like a religion for him. No matter how many times I would refute one of his claims, it didn't matter. Conspiracy theories are like a virus; they spread fast and they're hard to kill.

Much like what I've seen in the last 24 hours with this birth certificate issue.

I agree with you that this whole thing is silly & a distraction from a million other issues.

Gas prices, the Federal Reserve, inflation, are much more important.

I think we should be positioning this as a victory. We asked for something from Obama for nearly 3 years and he finally relented.

It makes him look silly that he waited so long.

Instead, people are playing CSI and using armchair forensics to claim that they've become experts in digital forgery overnight just because they figured out how to open a file in Illustrator.

I use Adobe Pro all the time, but not illustrator. The OCR mode has to be manually activated, and is not an 'automatic',and I have routinely had scanning done for 10+ years with various versions, and never had this OCR whiteness issue happen even ONCE on any of my scanned documents. So this supposedly 'chronic' behavior appears to be rather less than such.

And I frequently do have to enable OCR for purposes of replying to lengthy documents by cutting and pasting, and still have not noted any such behavior. Maybe I am missing it but, it appears the defenses of the Obama certificate legitimacy are the ones with the "weak" objections to the objection here.

That being said, I really am not concerned whether this document is forged...since Obama has asserted it is the real deal...now we can demonstrably prove his ineligibility due to the non-citizen father...a clear violation of all constitutional and case law on "natural born" status. Too bad Beck appears to be legally ignorant, and misreads the 14th Amendment's citizenship provision...which never revoked the Presidentiaal office requirement. Which may be the reason Obama refused to release it from the beginning. So we should simply commence an appropriate U.S. House hearing on the eligibilty legal question, since the Supreme Court has refused to take the issue, and force it into the lime-light. This isn't a 'birther' issue. It is the U.S.Constitution.
