State Department Wants To Make It Harder To Get A Passport
Consumer Traveler ^

If you don’t want it to get even harder for a U.S. citizen to get a passport — now required for travel even to Canada or Mexico — you only have until Monday to let the State Department know.

The U.S. Department of State is proposing a new Biographical Questionnaire for some passport applicants: The proposed new Form DS-5513 asks for all addresses since birth; lifetime employment history including employers’ and supervisors names, addresses, and telephone numbers; personal details of all siblings; mother’s address one year prior to your birth; any “religious ceremony” around the time of birth; and a variety of other information. According to the proposed form, “failure to provide the information requested may result in … the denial of your U.S. passport application.”

What? Who in their right mind would want to leave the lovely third world shithole they’re creating?

This article suggests that all this extra data is needed ONLY IF YOU CAN’T SUPPLY A BIRTH CERTIFICATE

For now.

The new Berlin Wall is built of paperwork and red tape instead of concrete and steel.

Oh, you can bet there is a lot of concrete and steel backing up the paperwork and red tape.

All the questions Obama won’t answer

Maybe that's the whole point. Maybe this is his idea to score some answers with authenticity that he can use for himself.

You don’t find it amusing that the proposed regulation is for those “not born in a medical facility”, with no BC, or didn’t register birth within a year? I do.

In Hawaii you could get a COLB if your parents could show Hawaiian residence, and you had been born within a year or so of the request. Not sure when this changed but I think it was 197-something.

Oddly this State Department change seems to aim right at that, funny, eh?

The whole thing is quite strange, i wonder just where this came from. Hillary?

So Obama couldn’t possibly get a passport then.

“I presume our president would be exempt”

I suspect that presidents, like congressmen, get a passport with the office.

Just trying to keep everybody from leaving. Wouldn’t want the worker bees that pay all the taxes to up and leave.

Which of the Obama’s fascists came up with this idea?

How soon does the flagship St Louis depart the port of New York?

It would make it virtually impossible for most people to get a passport.

And this is a bad thing.. how?

I assume most intelligent Americans already have a passport. The rest (those who voted for Zero) mostly do not.

Keep them here, not poisoning the rest of the world.

I recently found out that only 10% of Americans even have passports. A very sad statistic.

Keep the liberal morons here? I think not. Better to give them the boot.

State Department Wants To Make It Harder To Get A Passport...

...unless you’re the president.

Oh, well, the history of communism very clearly shows that commissars always get special treatment and endless privileges.

I may be wrong, but from what I have read, all the weeping, gnashing of teeth and renting of hair shirts, is but a straw man.

As I understand it, all of this is unavoidable, if one simply produces a valid birth certificate. If uncertain as to one’s identity, I much prefer they prove it rather than just handing out passports willy nilly to anyone.

Our leaders want to do as the Soviets did: make it very difficult to leave your country.
