Why is Sarah Palin STILL in the News ? [Eligibility Issue]
The Post & Email ^ | April 11, 2011 | One Pissed-off Vietnam Vet

(Apr. 12, 2011) — The shame of it is, at one time she actually could’ve had a chance, but she’s burned too many bridges to be anything other than a discarded has-been, a sad case of waiting in the wings hoping beyond hope that the front-runners will stumble and fall and she’ll be resurrected as a Miss Liberty Phoenix.

The truth is, she went down to Arizona and campaigned for the old geezer, the very same one who apologized for some announcer saying “Barack HUSSEIN Obama,” and then she kept quiet about the birth certificate while that’s all my wife and I talked about before the election in 2008.

I called one of the caucus members and asked her if she had any concerns about Obamas’ birth certificate in 2008, and she hung up on me. Now, two and a half years later, Sarah Palin may or may not jump on the “birther” bandwagon, now that it seems that it’s becoming a mainstream topic.

Why is Sarah Palin STILL in the News

Why wouldn’t she be?

Palin seems to have dropped off the face of the earth over the last couple months. That leads me to believe that she has either decided not to run for President, or she has decided that tactically it is best to lay low to take the bulls-eye off of herself and let the other candidates take some abuse

If Nixon can have a second shot at the presidency, why can’t she.

She would not have the following had it not been for the RINO. One payback from her doesn’t bother me. As far as the birther thing is concerned she said the other night “more power to Trump”. Perhaps she’s coming around.

She’s probably not really laying low.

It’s probably more like taking time out to re-evaluate what she can accomplish politically.

Nixon lost against JFK in 1960. It was a nail-biter of an election, just like Bush-Kerry.

The only difference was that Joseph Kennedy had bought the Chicago vote.

You are right. I think it's the latter. I love what Trump is doing, but can you imagine Palin saying some of this stuff (we take Iraq's oil, we stiff China on loan payments, we won the war, so we own the country, etc). In contrast Palin is looking more moderate and serious. I think her laying back allows her to get the target off her back. The lib media is totally focused on Trump.

Sarah Palin is the continental divide. This “pissed-off” guy is on one side; I’m on the other.

Maybe she is not in the blogger’s image, but I’d like to know who is. Probably someone who couldn’t fill 10 rows in a high school auditorium.

Sarah will make and shake the next election. Anyone who ignores that will find out fast.

Why do people get so irritated by her? I enjoy her immensely. The lamestream gaspipes have hammered and hacked at her, yet she still stands tall. That should speak volumes. But some still want her to fit into every facet of their own personal agendas; when she doesn’t, they hate on her just like the blowhards.

Palin lost me when she lied to voters in her support of McCain to be re-elected.

I lost respect for her as I have for many conservatives who have refused to address the BC issue in any meaningful way other then dissmissing us.

I don’t care what their position may be, they could have spoken to us like adults.

Palin was the first GOP 2012er to rip the WH-GOP budget deal (then Huck and Bachmann waved the white flag (Bachmann the next day claimed she was misunderstood.))

Sarah Palin discusses the budget deal as well as questions about President Obama's birth certificate

I snicker at people who count Sarah out at this stage and I do not have any problem with her evolving position on the birth certificate issue.

If she had she been the one to try to force the question months back, it would have definitely killed any chances she would have in the future. She would have gotten no traction, no respect, everyone would have laughed at or ignored her and it would have further delegitimatized the entire issue.

Choosing which battles to fight is something every canny politician has to do. Sarah looked at the cards she had and decided that it was not a good time for her to weigh in.

To my mind, Trump is the perfect foil for this. He can’t be bought, he can’t be ignored and he’s impossible to scare. Fine, let him take point for a while.
