Tax the Super Rich now or face a revolution
Market Watch ^ | March 29, 2011 | Paul B. Farrell

Yes, tax the Super Rich. Tax them now. Before the other 99% rise up, trigger a new American Revolution, a meltdown and the Great Depression 2.

We know the Super Rich don’t care. Not about you. Nor the American public. They can’t see. Can’t hear. Stay trapped in their Forbes-400 bubble. An echo chamber that isolates them. They see the public as faceless workers, customers, taxpayers. See GOP power on the ascent. Reaganomics is back. Unions on the run. Clueless masses are easily manipulated.

Even Obama is secretly working with the GOP, will never touch his Super Rich donors. Yes, the Super-Rich Delusion is that powerful, infecting all America.

Here’s how one savvy insider who knows described this Super-Rich Delusion: “The top 1% live privileged lives, aren’t worried about much. Families vacation at the best resorts. Their big concerns are finding the best Pilates teacher, best masseuse, best surgeons, best private schools. They aren’t concerned with the underlying deterioration of America or the world, except in the abstract, because they aren’t directly affected by it. That’s not to say they aren’t sympathetic, aware, or don’t talk about the issues you bring up. They are largely concerned with protecting and enhancing their socio-economic positions, ensuring their families live well. And nothing you write about will change things.”

Well you fail once again at basic reading comprehension so your charge of stupidity is misplaced.

Once again: You are arguing against policies I don’t hold. See my post #46 and subsequent posts.

That is good information, sorry if I was too defensive in my last reply to you, just getting sick of being accused dozens of times of holing to policies which I am totally against. Will watch that video. Not surprising.

You can’t prosecute them, the whole system is bought and paid for and they own it all. For every sacrificial lamb, like a Madoff, there are people much more powerful, who benefited to a much greater degree from their criminal actions and they’ll never see a day in jail. How many people have been prosecuted, let alone found guilty, for the latest meltdown we had?

I read your #46 and I still think you are an assclown.

You are irritated but you didn’t think out your position with any depth.

If you are arguing against JP Morgan, GE, Buffet, GM - I agree. But not all of the people who work for these companies and earn more than $250k screwed you, me or anyone else.

They don’t write the policy of the company or the comp plan and everyone will work to maximize the comp plan. That makes them a good employee.

But you want to screw them out of the 80-90 hours a week they put in to earn that money?

You are a thief who casts a wide net and couldn’t care less about the innocent.

Some of us take the cards we are dealt and figure it out. Others expect someone else to figure it out for them.

You are the only one I see trolling. I don’t envy anyone. I’m all for people working hard and making a lot of money, as longs they don’t break the law and try to destroy America. Your anti-Christian bias paints as a bigot as well. Go troll somewhere else fool!

If you watch the video turn the sound up and go full screen.

It’s hilarious and eye opening.

There are a couple of other vids on that site that were funny.

I am aware of the tax code, and it is not so ridiculously complex by accident, it’s by design! If we had a simple flat tax that would stop a lot of the abuses I’m talking about.

Whatever, I deal with reality and what exists not what I hope it to be.

But maybe we are coming closer to understanding each other.

Wow way to misrepresent! I am no assclown. No I explicitly stated in follow up posts I am not against people working hard and earning a lot of money! I don’t want them to “pay higher taxes” or “steal their money”. This position you are arguing against I DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO! How much clearer can I make it? This is tiresome. I am not a thief and you shouldn’t throw such an accusation like that out there so easily. I am talking SOLELY about the “super rich”, this is people earning multiple billions. The guys working on Wall Street as traders or analysts are not the ones defrauding the US taxpayers, in collusion with the US govt. to steal trillions, or making power moves behind the scenes as part of the NWO agenda. If you want to work hard and be rich, fine great! I wish you well. I am not against the rich at all.

"It’s time to cull the herd"

The herd has already been culled through abortion. As the Baby Boom Generation moves into the here-after, Mother Nature will cull more of the herd. I would not take joy in any culling. Abortion is on top of my list. And it is #6 in God's list that says, "Thou shalt not kill." Such is a myopic fantasy which thinks that less people makes more unicorns to ride. However, there is the problem of less wealth to feed the unicorns.

One needs to think in terms of the value of the individual human being and not live in the fantasy world of the unicorn farm. Our Christian heritage puts value on each human being. And in step with Christian thinking, each human being also has value in the Capitalist system. Each participates in the generation of new wealth which builds the technology for a better life.

In the real world, there are no unicorns, but real humans dependent upon a system that delivers all the needs of their mortal existence. The Capitalist free market system is the only system that can do it.

When government takes away wealth that has been generated by human innovation, it is another type of culling. Done in a proper way--by the Constitution--this culling can be a necessary sacrifice. Done excessively, this type of culling kills the economic benefits of innovation, it discourages human ingenuity and it encourages the nonproductive dependence on the wealth it takes. In a myopic way it kills the human spirit to create a better life for human beings. And the genie of Capitalism is culled from the herd.

I retired at 53 and God willing, I’m going to stay retired.

BUT, if I were looking for a job, I would want it to be for a boss like you. [hat tip]

I have friend who are the super rich and I know how they got there. By the sweat of their brow.

Define super rich. Larry Ellison, Steve Jobs, Woz, The Fry’s, Trump, etc?

Are they your targets? Cuz thems the 1%ers and I know them and they are pretty straight forward.

Maybe you’d like a crack at Meg Whitman, The Bechtels, The Sobrato’s, George Lucas, I am probably leaving a few other off here but which one of these families or persons makes your list?
