I agree. First you write a public statement. Then, when there is nothing forthcoming, you defund the whole endeavor with a statement about the separation of powers and the duties of the Executive branch.

They’ll have to have somebody come down for a stroking session, or else Congress WILL cut their funding off, albeit temporarily.
I think you’re right. This was no softball it was a shot across 0bambi’s bow. Whether Boehner follows up and backs it up is open to question and time will tell but this was a serious message indicating that Boehner will take a stand.
